That Peaceful Place: Martin Packwood is rather special with Jazz-inspired debut single ‘Daydreamer’

With his highly anticipated full album set for release in 2022, Martin Packwood soothes all our worries away with one of the most peaceful instrumental-only songs you will hear all year with ‘Daydreamer‘.

Martin Packwood is a solo recording Jazz guitarist and a retired software engineer, who was most active while playing extensively back in the 70’s and 80’s in Birmingham, UK.

You feel like he is playing above the clouds as he is floating around with a massive grin on his face, jamming his trusty guitar because he loves it. There is so much to respect about an artist who has made a comeback after working on his business, who plays with a sterling blend of excellence which is such a blessing to witness.

Daydreamer‘ from the skilled software engineer and Jazz guitarist Martin Packwood, is a lovely piece of music from a highly experienced musician. After reconnecting the much-missed love for his true passion again recently, you feel this raw emotion inside his experienced fingers which absolutely transforms this wonderful single. There is much to hold onto here, as this ravishing riff is just so perfectly constructed with much love attached.

Sometimes you just need to lather in peaceful ambiance, to break away from all of the distracting noise of this pollution-filled world.

Tune into Wave of Sheep’s punch-drunk-hardcore-punk single, TV Static

If your playlists are falling short of angsty punch-drunk-hardcore-punk, tune into TV Static, the latest single released by the Birmingham-based fourpiece, Wave of Sheep.

Their scuzzy track is 2:11-minutes of full-frontal aggression that channels the same anger that has eaten us away at us in isolation, but when it is spiralling out of frenetic tracks like TV Static, it’s a unifying cathartic experience that affirms that your anger is a sign of sanity rather than the flipside.

With nods to 70s punk in the production and hints of snarling post-punk to the vocals, you can’t help getting swept up in the track that attacks modern problems with vintage style.

TV Static is now available to stream along with the rest of Wave of Sheep’s EP, Lights Gone Out, via SoundCloud.

I Know What That’s Worth: Alabama act Salvo have us enraptured on ‘The Most Evil Person on The Face of the Earth’

Formally known as the electric punk act named ‘Pain‘, Salvo did life for a while and have come back to warm our hearts again with their exciting new track named ‘The Most Evil Person on The Face of the Earth‘.

Salvo are a Birmingham, Alabama-based indie rock band. They make that classic sounding music that is a pleasure to your ears and has a musical theater-type energy attached to leave you so captivated.

Many of the band members of Salvo used to be in Pain, who released four albums and toured heavily in the ’90’s, earning a nationwide fan-base that remains gleefully loyal. Pain produced videos, recorded for Cartoon Network, had their songs included in television soundtracks, and worked relentlessly as one of the most unique pop-punk bands to come out of the post-grunge era. After a much-needed hiatus, most of Pain has returned as Salvo.” ~ Salvo

This is the story about being a highly mean person who has no good vibes for the world after being let down before, which is matched with an abundance of sensational soundscapes which has you feeling you are in a different world, that lifts the roof off your day. The have so much buoyant charm on this fast paced single, which will surely leave you breathless at times.

Birmingham’s most raucous indie punk rock luminaries Mild Headache have dropped their latest single, ‘Near Me.

Any fans of sticky-sweet vocal hooks and chaotic indie rock instrumentals will want to delve right into the latest release from the Birmingham-based raucous luminaries Mild Headache.

‘Near Me’ is a rhythmically fierce white-knuckle ride through ensnaring alt-indie elements, softened by the playful earworm potential of the anthem which is far reminiscent of the tones you’d hear from across the pond.

The last thing we needed was another indie-pop-rock assimilating act; Mild Headache put the unoriginal to shame. They have exactly what it takes to ascend in the ranks with Cabbage, SHAME, Gender Roles and Hot Milk and hit the same heights. If you get a chance to see them live, take it.

Martin Reynolds is a Tamworth, United Kingdom-based indie folk/blues singer-songwriter, and acclaimed drummer. He fuses that inspiring music that has ready to get stuck in, as you reach for those dreams and never give up no matter what.

Usually found behind the skins for the grunge blues rockers, You Dirty Blue. Martin Reynolds has stepped out from behind the kit to put out his first ever solo record.” – Martin Reynolds

After impressing highly on the debut ‘Strange Days Indeed‘ from March 2021, we find Martin in top form yet again with a sterling effort that is packed full of authentic soul, with his excellently-written lyrics impressing highly.

‘The albums birth took place after the country went into lockdown, Knowing this was on the cards, he borrowed his band mate (Leon James) 24 track mixer and started demoing songs at home. As soon as the first set of restrictions were lifted he headed to his sanctuary (the now defunct Silky Studios) where he began laying tracks down.” – Martin Reynolds

With an inviting voice that has you feeling like you could watch him singing all day long, he has you feeling so calm and relaxed again after the windy storms that are slowly passing. This is so much to like here and the soundscape takes you to a better island – far from the madness and only with positive energy wrapped over your face – like a cold cloth soaked onto your simmering skin after a hot summers day.

The Sky Ain’t The Limit‘ from the tremendous Tamworth, England-based indie singer-songwriter Martin Reynolds, is a wonderfully self-motivating single that has you closing your eyes in belief. You know you need to up your game and never give in, as your goals are waiting for you if you are willing to really go for it and dig in deep. Only the strongest shall survive in this temptation-filled world.
