Recorded in London, this special song has been created to help us all during this horrific and long-lasting pandemic that has taken many lives, scared most of us and has left many emotional wounds that might take generations to fully recover from.

Whilst some people have hidden away from it all, waiting for it all to be over, some brave musicians have decided to stand up and be counted. This is a fine example of how music can truly heal and help those sensitive souls out there that need a bit of help to make it through the next day.

Possessing that extra edge: Motivated Birmingham 5-Piece By Devices remind us what counts on with ‘I Need To Win’

The rollicking start from Birmingham’s By Devices on ‘I Need To Win’ gets you to jump off your sofa as you dust off those old dance moves. Electric energy surges into your veins and you remember those sweaty clubs you used to frequent to see that band your mate told you about. This is an outfit that have nibbled on a bit of success and now they want the whole cake.

You feel their intensity as the build grows greater and great; the vocals echo through the speakers and this might be too loud for some. You want this band to win as they have that extra bit of quality that is missing in most bands armory these days as they worry too much about shallow fads and sounding cool. This is old school indie-rock that is simple and does what it says on the tin; kick ass rock music that pumps you up and get you in a mood to conquer all doubts.

His vocals are such a pleasurable listen as the band all mesh their skill sets to create a banging tune that needs more love. The desire of that summer again is heartily felt with a long winter in the UK expected.

The song swings all moods the right way and By Devices have that hunger you need to make it big in this saturated game. ‘I Need To Win’ is a storming effort that will annoy the neighbors that don’t know what top notch music sounds like. It doesn’t matter really however, as your mindset is focused on the things that really matter. Scoring the last minute penalty to win the game of life, is what counts in the end.

Block out the distractions on YouTube, Spotify and see the band’s socials via IG and FB.

Birmingham’s Nathan Maurice sends tribute in tough year on ‘And All the Light That Had Ever Existed Ceased to Exist’

Nathan Maurice reflects such beauty in a tough year personally on the new single called ‘And All the Light That Had Ever Existed Ceased to Exist‘.

Nathan Maurice is a Composer and Producer from Birmingham in the UK. Fans of Nils Frahm, Phillip Glass, and Steve Reich may want to prick up their ears for the latest ambient offering of Neo-Classical electronica from up and coming composer who saunters into our world with this fine song.

This piano solo was composed after the passing of a family member and the subsequent emotions. It is for everyone that has lost someone during the pandemic. This is such a traumatic time for this artist and he does the lost family member proud here with a fine tribute.

There are no vocals on this one as we are put in a peaceful world here. I get lost in this song, the pureness is truly spectacular and we are in for a treat here despite the sad undertones.

Nathan Maurice shows us something different on ‘And All the Light That Had Ever Existed Ceased to Exist‘ and this is a rare song that encapsulates a true voyage of self discovery. This is best turned up loud with a glass of wine. Get that bubble bath going, get the candles and refresh the mind. Life is short so reach out to those close to you.

Alex Lleo is on top form with brilliant ‘Easy Way’

Alex Lleo is back in a big way with his excellent new indie-pop release called ‘Easy Way’.

Alex Lleo is a singer-songwriter from Birmingham and he returns with such a gem of a song that will let us all think about what is around us.

Spending time in nature – in Worcestershire’s Lickey Hills where Alex lives and grew up, the awe-inspiring Scandinavian mountains, and surfing the various coastlines of the British Isles has shaped Alex’s creative outlook. You can hear his attraction to the natural world, its peace and its drama, in his music, which is exquisitely-paced, laid-back and rich in melody.

This is such a lovely song and I love Alex’s voice. The vocals are smooth and his stories can be related to. Not taking the easy way out is the answer and instead doing things with a glint in your eye, staying positive no matter what 2020 has brought you. This is a time for us to heal. Alex Lleo from Birmingham does precisely that on ‘Easy Way’.

‘’Give Space’’ from ‘3rose’ is hauntingly regretful single that ticks all the boxes

All it takes is a few mistakes.

’3rose’’, who mixed, mastered and produced this track to house musos delight. This is a soulfully chilled song with a deep message. A few mistakes can really mess things up and this topic is discussed rather self-awarely by ‘’3rose’’.

‘Molecular Synthesis’ is the name of the new album from this Birmingham based producer and it’s the follow up to ‘Afterthought’. With only 3 months in between releases, this is an artist that is pushing out music at a rapid rate.

‘3rose’ has put out a moody but catchy song here and it hits some rather dark undertones about regret. A good single though and one that will be on many a playlist. He needs to get his music out there on Spotify & YouTube a bit more to get that maximum impact.

This is a promising artist outta Birmingham, UK and it will be exciting to see what happens next and where he goes. All the way to the top hopefully, this is quality music. You just have to be in the right mood.
