Bolin Jue – Friends: Sticky-Sweet Alt-Indie Pop

If you don’t find endearment within the latest single “Friends” from up and coming Alt Indie artist Bolin Jue, it’s safe to say that you don’t have a soul.

The synthy polyphonic Indie Pop delight carves out plenty of quintessential charm while carrying some reminiscences to bands such as Fidlar and Wavves. Yet, with the sticky-sweet Pop sensibility of Friends, it’s all too easy to find a sense of comfort within the gentle melodies.

It’s been a while since I heard a track which I didn’t know whether I should smile or shed a tear as it progressed. As despite the adorable nature of Friends, the track sugar-coats the fact that a lot of people find themselves in the same position where it seems all their friends are broken; it’s still a slightly bitter pill to swallow.
