Going Insane: Gary Mictian swims deeper away from the disappointment on I Die Every Night

Taken off the fascinating 5-track Vertigo EP, Gary Mictian yearns for that special touch to summon his whole heart to scintillate with a flourishing blend of brilliance again on I Die Every Night.

Gary Mictian is a London, UK-based electronic pop music producer and songwriter who makes expressive music to soothe all sad souls into better waters.

When explaining his approach to song writing Gary says “My philosophy is to always push boundaries and capture honesty and personality. I love writing songs that have a surrealist tone contrasted with moments of introspection and humility.” ~ Gary Mictian

Asking for a chance to be the one, we find a hugely motivated soul in top form here. This is a do-you-want-me-too mission to a much better place, as Gary Mictian sings with that extra love and care needed to make a monumental impact.

This is the story of my journey coming to terms with my inability to accept love from the people in my life, and growing out of my emotional unavailability. This is the acceptance of my past, the discovery of my self-worth and choosing unreserved honesty.” ~ Gary Mictian

I Die Every Night from London, UK-based electronic pop music producer and songwriter Gary Mictian is a rather unique single with expressive lyrics so many of us can truly be invested inside. Brushing away the self-made barriers and stepping freely again to love wholeheartedly, we find a truly superb release to learn from.

In a cold world, working out who you want to be warm with, has never been more important.

Floating on The Wings: Mirko Sangrigoli waited so long for that special moment on Never Enough

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CfjhUEveFg

With his focus back on writing songs again and sensing the right time to get his compositions out into the world, Mirko Sangrigoli demonstrates to us the power of a chance collaboration with Never Enough.

Mirko Sangrigoli is a London, UK-based indie singer-songwriter who is a true muso and shines a light on underground tracks made from the soul.

I remember always mucking about with any instrument I could get my hands on. The first thing I ever played was my father’s drums. It quickly developed from there, and the next thing you know, I was writing songs about everything I could think of on a toy keyboard. Growing up, I didn’t have fancy equipment, so I learned to get creative with what was available.” ~ Mirko Sangrigoli

Sinking in the dark all alone and waiting for the kiss that might never arrive, Mirko Sangrigoli is in top form and shows us where real quality is in this watered-down world. This is a class personified and ultimately a fine effort.

Never Enough from London, UK-based indie singer-songwriter Mirko Sangrigoli is a real stunner of an experience for anyone who’s waited so long for something, to ultimately feeling like it was a complete waste.

Projected so eloquently and soaked in a ray of hope, that perhaps the feeling will change, even though deep down, the defeat is rather close.

Meaningful music with impact will always sound a bit better than most. Mirko Sangrigoli has just proved this notion with some aplomb.

How Do You Expect Me: Angael feels the controlled walls closing in on You Found Me

After posting her first songs in the summer of 2013, Angael returns to the solo waters with a superbly devised single to play on full volume and this one is called, You Found Me.

Angael aka Rachael Ward is a Manchester, UK-based indie alternative pop solo artist who was recently in the English-Portuguese band Rilke.

Not to be confused with being “found” romantically, YFM is about feeling watched over and controlled. Taking inspiration from Eminem and Dido’s ‘Stan’, as well as other trip hop/pop style beats from the early 00’s(cc: SugababesStronger), You Found Me will trigger an immediate sense of y2k nostalgia, that wouldn’t be too far off a sound found in the Bridget Jones soundtrack.” ~ Angael

With beautifully authentic vocals and brimming with the type of quality usually reserved for the best, Angael has dropped a much-loved song to gain courage from. This is top-tier stuff from one of the most enchanting artists on the map.

You Found Me from Manchester, UK-based indie alternative pop artist Angael is one of the more elevating tracks to play when a new door needs to open. After feeling trapped and rather unloved, this is the call to shake all fears away when the cold nights start to catch up.

Brew calms our overloaded attention on insightful interview

Showing us that classical connection and collaborating with artists all over the world, the likeable Dave from Brew had a chat with us all about his extraordinary career which started when he was just 7 years old. With his 6-track EP Frontier from 2022 still fresh in the memory and gliding in with 2023’s Editor of All Things, we learn about that footie passion infused with creative freedom.

Hello there Brew. Where exactly in the world do we find you today and how did you get into music?

Dave: I currently live in London (UK) having grown up in Yorkshire. My parents were both classical musicians and I have always been surrounded by music from a young age. I started playing the piano when I was 7 and my older brother’s love of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd introduced me to a whole new world of sound and fun.

Please tell us about your music vision and what do you hope to achieve long-term.

Dave: I came to the realisation that I need to make music I like as opposed to trying to fit in elsewhere, this has liberated me creatively and I hope that people can connect in some way to the songs as they are essentially reflections of me (sounds cheesy I know but it’s true!)

My ideal in the future is to collaborate with other artists and musicians and explore the world some more through writing.

When you close your eyes and imagine your ideal place to create, what does it look like and where is it?

Dave: Home, sat at the piano with a fresh cup of tea and my kids happily entertaining themselves upstairs so I can get lost in a new idea.

You have stated that a song a month is the mission. What inspired you to do this and who are you working with/hope to work with?

Dave: I just turned 40 and don’t want any regrets, I also like a challenge! I used to compose for computer games and had regular deadlines so imposing some structure is helpful to me.

I’m working mainly with the incredible singer Deza at present. I have a few more grooved/soulful ideas in the pipeline also so I may look for another singer at some point too.

What’s the best thing about being a musician?

Dave: Complete Creative freedom and always room to improve. I’m a big football fan and it brings people together, music is unique also in that it does the same thing. I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t like music.

What’s the most important piece of advice you’ve ever received in your life?

Dave: It’s better to be kind than to be right.

Last, if you could have a superpower for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Dave: I could sing! I’d love to be a singer-songwriter but it wasn’t meant to be.

We’ll Plant You a Garden: Ghostgirl radiates through the strange spaces on step out of the shade

https://ghostgirlmusic.bandcamp.com/track/step-out-of-the-shade

Self-taught and with that courageous community spirit to overcome all obstacles presented, Ghostgirl sings with the kind of spirit on the searching-for-hope song which might induce a few tears, step out of the shade.

Kay Rowan aka Ghostgirl is a London, UK-based trans composer, indie songwriter, and multi-skilled actor who grew up in classical music and genuine traditional folk.

Was written as a prayer. Not in a religious sense, but in a profoundly human sense. Sometimes you can find yourself praying for someone to understand their own value – when you watch someone adrift in an endless ocean of their own despair, seeing every anchor as a new way to drown. It’s hard, to watch as someone gives up, daunted by their idea of who they should be. It’s hard to look into the mirror, and see that person reflected back at you, when you’re so used to externalising. So you do what we all do: you throw more anchors into the sea, and hope one reaches in time. Songs are kind of like that – little anchors to keep the world from drifting away.” ~ Kay Rowan

With a hauntingly beautiful aura and filling our veins with a rather sad story, Ghostgirl starts the restorative process and climbs out of bed to see where that true value is. This is underground music at its best due to vocally heart-healing melodies and with honest lyrics, this is a true gem.

step out of the shade from London, UK-based trans multi-talented musician Ghostgirl is a rather special effort. This is unpretentious music at its finest. There is depth here. Mountains of strength, weaved in with so much tragic innocence, in a world which seems so harsh right now.

When you know it’s time to go outside again, it’s best to find the light to warm the soul.
