Scottish Acid project producer duo Wraiths light up our mood with ‘Midnight Son’

Wraiths are a stomping acid project duo that was formed by James Allan and Colin Mckellar who turn a depressing day into a translucent one with plenty to be excited about on ‘Midnight Son‘.

The beat blows down any pre-conceived notions about this genre you might of had. This is the plug that sparks life into a dull party and wakes up anyone that thinks they can sleep during this absolute ripper of a dance track.

This song reminds you of the Blade franchise as it is perfectly made for those sweaty clubs that oozes fun, mystery and lots of dance floor sliding as you work off all of that frustration that has been building up from lack of fulfillment.

This is the type of track to play on a Friday night after a boring week at work with mates who are keen to have an epic time with no worries, talk about politics or the mundane. The body might feel tender the next day but who cares anyway. Life is meant to be a ride into the unknown.

Scottish duo Wraiths tear it up so good on ‘Midnight Son‘ and this is an acid dance track that will have the whole crowd in raptures when it can be played live again. With a dirty beat that makes you hot, this is the type of music that keeps the heart rate up and the mood on cloud nine.

Share this with your friends to make their day too on Spotify and see what’s going down with the Scottish duo on FB.

Remembering those special moments: Elliot Greer’s ‘When I Hear Africa by Toto’ (ft. Rose Stoller) is a love story that shouldn’t end

Scottish born singer-songwriter multi-instrumentalist, and actor Elliot Greer, is absolutely incredible with a stirring reminisce about that feeling you get when you hear a song that means so much on ‘When I Hear Africa by Toto’ (ft. Rose Stoller).

The humming start grabs you closely, not too tight though, as we open the door to a stunning track that will have you holding your special human close or shedding some tears to the one that got away.

A love letter about things that could and should of happened, sent to a lover that he cares for so deeply and wants it to work, so much. She responds with a honey-coated delivery and this is such a beautiful indie-folk song that has ‘classic’ written all over it.

His voice is so gritty and the tone grabs your soul and doesn’t let go ever. This is a true story-teller that speaks from real experiences and the acoustic guitar skills are out of this world good. Her voice quickly joins this vividly-described experience and your heart beats so much faster. She speaks on the ups and downs in the relationship, the smell of the musky memory and the song that you can’t stop listening to. You miss each other and desire that close contact again.

Taken off his debut album ‘Handcrafted’, that was made in 3 bathrooms, 2 closets, and 1 laundry room. This is a self-made and self-produced song that has kept Sterling, Scotland born Elliot busy during this traumatic year. He didn’t just sit and feel sorry for himself after the year was going to be his best ever, instead Elliot made music that is so meaningful. When it gets tough, the tough get going.

‘’Someone once said to me that it’s when you stop looking for something that you finally find it. For years, I felt melodies and vocals come naturally to me. It was always the words I couldn’t find. I knew what I wanted to say. I just didn’t know how to say it.’’-Elliot Greer

New York City based Elliot Greer brings us a stunning blues-filled song full of heartbreak and possibilities on ‘When I Hear Africa by Toto’ (ft. Rose Stoller). This is a track that will you make you miss those memorable moments with that special soul or make you appreciate your partner even more. Life is about living in the moment and not regretting what could have happened; even though it’s much easier said than done.

The solo journey begins: Glasgow’s Laird goes solo and speaks the truth on ‘Rock & Roll Has Died’

Sometimes solo artists work out after being in bands half their lives. Sometimes however, they crash, burn and go back to the old band or form a new one. This time, we find an artist with an extra edge and a hunger that will clean out the buffet table.

Glasgow’s Laird has gone solo and speaks the truth on ‘Rock & Roll Has Died‘. He loves this genre of music and it’s inside his bones, his blood flows with kick ass tunes that rocks the house down.

After being in a few well-respected local bands in the Glasgow area that were blessed enough to share the stage with Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Biffy Clyro and more, this artists career has come full circle.

New York legend Nas famously said that Hip Hop was dead. This has the same kind of energy and truth to it. That pure Rock & Roll vibe that was huge for many years has gone down in terms of mainstream appeal as electronic and other watered down music dominated the airwaves and radio.

Rock & Roll Has Died‘ from Scotland’s Laird has that old school feel to it as he expressed his love for this style of music. The energy is high, his vocals are so good and this is a track that takes you back to the good times. The genre will never fully die but it does feel that it could be much better. Hopefully Rock & Roll rises from the dead and returns to the top of the minds of music fans globally.

Glasgow’s Playfio’s space odyssey journey on ‘Nameless Man’

Nameless Man‘ features on ‘Arcadian Resonance‘, and is the second studio album from Scottish band Playfio. They return with this spacey song with real heart that will have you watching all the way through.

Nameless Man‘, was ironically almost left off this album. After been given a second chance once Claude Etienne had worked his magic on the guitar, it’s inclusion was suddenly at the top of the list. Written by Rob Playford with Claude Etienne on guitar and the mix and master engineer was Adam Titmuss.

The album artwork, with it’s nod to the first album and Rob’s late Grandfather’s 1940’s Dance band Arcadia is artistically finessed by the fantastic film craft of Adam Stern. This is a band that take their time to make everything sound and look 100%.

Nameless Man‘ from Scottish band Playfio is like a soundtrack to a movie. The story of someone doing so much but ultimate nameless in the bigger scheme of things. Just like real life.

The Plastic Era is the brainchild of Charlie Rees who is a Scottish solo artist and drummer for the metal band Cerberon. ”Rid Of Me” is the name of the debut release from this new band and this is a thought-provoking track.

Currently staying in Stirling after being born in Falkirk, The Plastic Era are a vibrant act that delve into a hectic subject. Breakups are never pleasant and this can lead to us doing things we normally wouldn’t do. This song is all about wanting to stay with that person and to avoid breaking up with them. This however is not natural and sometimes things are just meant to end.

Bethany Ferrie – Under: Soulfully Resounding, Passionately Fierce Americana Pop Rock

Bethany Ferrie

Under” is the latest soulfully resounding Indie Pop Rock single to be released by up and coming Glaswegian singer-songwriter Bethany Ferrie. If the weight of the emotion in this poignantly transfixing single doesn’t floor you, it’s safe to assume that your soul is dysfunctional.

With Bluesy guitar licks leading the way through a modernistic production and Bethany Ferrie’s powerfully arrestive vocal range, Under is a uniquely compelling soundscape with plenty of commercial appeal. Under is the kind of track you give repeat attention to so that the lyrics become even more meaningful with every listen. We definitely can’t say that about most new artist’s soundscapes.

You can check out Bethany Ferrie’s single Under for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud from July 10th. In the meantime, you can listen to their equally as visceral previous releases.

Keep up to date with the artist’s latest release via Facebook.
