Voices In My Head: Yasmine Gill is quite exceptional as she looks for that light again on ‘Feel’

Carefully encapsulating our frigid consciousness with something warm and genuine, Yasmine Gill leads us into the first of her new singles taken from her upcoming 4-track EP with a story that will strike home to many with ‘Feel‘.

Yasmine Gill is a sensationally gifted Italian-Canadian soul/jazz solo artist and pianist based in thriving London who sings with a rare quality that you will find incomprehensible to ever forget.

”’Feel’ is about losing the senses, such as touch, sight, and sound, at a very low point in life. A place that can often seem insurmountable.” ~ Yasmine Gill

Vocally and lyrically, there is so much to love about Yasmine Gill as her sensually classy air of innocence takes your tired mind away from all worries. This is an anthem that so many of us can truly relate to, as she shows us how it’s so easy to lose yourself in this overly-stimulated universe.

Feel‘ from the superb London, UK-based Italian-Canadian soul/jazz singer-songwriter and pianist Yasmine Gill is one of the best tracks yet of 2022. This is an artist who was previously on the floor as the world weighed her down so much it felt like a mountain was pushing her towards defeat. After looking deeper within herself and gritting her teeth to stand up tall again, she sings her way out of the previous world and into a brighter day with endless possibilities.

When you feel like everything is lost, music heals you into that path you want to be on after all.

Respect The Game: Legendary Canadian emcee Sikadime expertly shows us the all-important ‘Good Intentions’

After more than 20 years in the music game, the underground legend Sikadime reminds us that he is one of the most skilled emcees’s ever with ‘Good Intentions‘.

Sikadime is a highly revered retired Canadian award-winning hip-hop musician, music producer, radio host and published author.

With so many corny wannabee’s speaking up when they should be listening and learning, he takes us to an old school message that should be heard far and wide.

After a couple more releases and the passing of his father, Sikadime announced his retirement following the release of his 50th album, 2020’s award-winning “Losers, Rejects & Renegades.” “Pops was my biggest fan. He got to travel the world in the navy and I got to travel it as a musician. He had his regrets of missing moments in my life and since now I’m a family man, he would say to stay rooted.” ~ Sikadime

Good Intentions‘ from the former radio host, music producer and sadly-now retired Canadian hip-hop artist Sikadime, is that reminder that he is surely one of the most respected artists that ever spit on the mic. You feel that this is a track that he meant to leave towards the end of his highly acclaimed career, to teach the youngsters how it should be done for that long-lasting success.

Blending splendidly into our lucky speakers from their upcoming ‘Cards On The Table’ album, Evok look keenly for that elusive royal flush on their wonderfully authentic debut single called ‘Save Me‘.

Evok is an ear-pleasing soul/jazz/synth-pop duo formed by songwriter and production duo Vinzenz Benjamin and Ella Jean. They warmly make the type of ravishing music that is such a lovely blend of modern and 80’s, as they take us for a vintage ride with the top down.

Austrian born bass player, producer and composer Vinzenz Benjamin, first met Canadian born vocalist Ella Jean, when they shared the stage doing gigs around the London club scene. At the start of the first 2020 lockdown they started collaborating
remotely, creating a collection of refreshingly different, ear-catching original songs.” – Evok

This is the endearing story that has your happy heart bouncing inside with so much delight, as nothing in this world is a given and you need that special person to help you through it all. Canadian Psychedelic rockers The Space Wizards beam through with ”On the Loose”

https://open.spotify.com/track/3ZLhtdZBhG6kr66LfUC8k1

There’s a breath-taking start and the drummer is in full flow. There is no stopping him on this track and he fires through with unlimited energy. From there it’s a raw vocal and guitar lesson on how to entertain the crowd. One of Canada’s best are here and they are born to entertain.

The Space Wizards are a 3 piece outfit from the mean streets of Montreal that have been jamming together since 2017. They impress mightily with ”On The Loose”. This is good old fashioned rock and roll that is designed to make us dance. The band must be going nuts without live gigs as they seem like a proper act. Not concerned with fame, these guys just want to do what good bands do- rock out hard on stage and let it all hang out. That is exactly what the song is about. Keeping things real and letting bygones be bygones with small things. Life is too short for unnecessary issues. This single is taken off their successful ”Adding Color” album from 2019 with this song being one of their last single releases as new music is surely on the way in 2020.

Canadian Rocker ZAYD shares personal pain about domestic violence with ‘’Father’’

‘’Father is a song based on a true personal story. It represents one of the most untold stories. Domestic violence is often labeled as a problem coming from broken families or those with lower social status.’’

‘ZAYD’ reveals part of his own story in the song as he is left to grapple with the aftermath. ‘’Father’’ is a song that describes the long lasting effects of the rage, the hurt, and the depression that a person can be left feeling for years after. It can cause a person to feel hopeless, lost and unworthy.

Through his music, ‘ZAYD’ aims to help those who have undergone similar situations. His goal is to help individuals along the path of healing by providing an outlet in his songs as well as the knowledge that there are others out there that have and are still fighting the same battle. It’s about replacing the negative feelings with the positive feelings of hope, love and a brighter future ahead. This song is about raising awareness of mental health and your voice, to protect children and other victims of abuse.

I really admire ‘ZAYD’ for coming out with this song. It’s deeply personal, hard hitting and you can hear the hurt & pain in his voice. This is a guy I will personally support and I hope his message inspires even one person. I’m sure it will. Music does indeed heal all.

Kid Riz drops his new single ‘Lola’

Canadian artist Kid Riz drops his new single ‘Lola’, a fresh boogie hit that will surprise you with its authenticity.

‘Lola’ stands from the very first playthrough as a dance-y tune filled with Latin sounds very unlike the typical summer Raggaeton one-hit wonders. It showcases an original feel in its sparkling and captivating loops, indulging you to “shake it” to the upbeat tempo.

Inspired by the likes of Drake, Bruno Mars and, in some bits, Kanye West, Kid Riz manages to “latinize” Hip Hop fundamentals with a tenacious RnB spirit – all building up to a Pop outcome that lives up to the Top50’s mainstream charts.

Being only 19 years old, Kid Riz has youth on his side and a long way ahead to explore and experiment.
