Omari lays down the easy melodic grooves in her debut single “Gameboy”

Many RnB artists like to play it safe with their lyricism and end up saying what has been said a thousand times before. Refreshingly, Melbourne artist Omari poured plenty of bold sentiments on the airwaves with her debut single “Gameboy”.

The Indie RnB Pop single has an engaging narrative lyrical style through which Omari assassinates the character of the unworthy waster which inspired Gameboy. Hearing the realisation of Omari’s self-worth in the single which packs in sublimely melodic grooves becomes an empowering aural experience. I can only imagine what it felt like to write it.

Even though you’ll hear plenty of the roots of Soul and RnB within Gameboy, there’s no understating the fresh evocative appeal behind the production. Despite the RnB vibe, it’s safe to say fans of Kate Nash and Florence and the Machine will quickly become enamoured by Omari’s stunning beyond definition vocals.

Australia’s Gordon Holland sings for the colder months on ‘I’m Looking Forward To Winter’

Gordon Holland is back with the soulful ‘I’m Looking Forward To Winter‘ and this is such a gem to the tired ears.

Australian singer-songwriter Gordon Holland has been making waves all over the Melbourne’s music scene and is on top form here. Following his relocation from Perth and bringing with him his musical partner, the pair formed The Naysayers in 2010 and soon took their garage rock to live stages around Australia.

While still writing and working within The Naysayers, Gordon found himself on a solo path which saw him merging his musical creativity into waters that had previously been uncharted. Soon after, he collaborated with fellow singer-songwriter Charlie Lane where the two constructed her successful The Darkest Time.

Following on from such successes, Gordon has been sailing the seas between his Takamine acoustic and Fender Jaguar in a way that enables his music to flow through lyrics that are confessional and nostalgic yet humorous and wistful.

I’m Looking Forward To Winter‘ from Gordon Holland is an ode to the colder months where you can cuddle with your loved one. You smile when you think of all the hot chocolate and blankets. Perhaps your cat is close by and you can watch movies together and hide away for a while. All you want to do is snuggle close and get away from the world. The soft singer-songwriter vibes are so pleasant and I love the true stories here. This is a quality track for 2020.

Australian singer Nuria showcases her amazing voice on brilliant ‘Touch’

Touch‘ is the latest single from Tasmanian pop singer-songwriter Nuria and this is one to remember.

Inspired by feelings of longing brought about by enforced isolation in lockdown, ‘Touch‘ is punchy and sensual, exploring physical desire and euphoria. Recorded in her caravan studio with superb additional production work by Alice Springs based producer Dave Crowe (aka Resin Moon). This tight pop track will take you to that party place you need to go and is being premiered with AU Review.

We all miss that tough of a human, our souls will be closer and happier. Our hearts desire that feeling so that our spines can tingle and be at one. This is a feeling that will be back soon after this horrible pandemic and it can’t come soon enough.

Exploring her desires, hopes and fears moving into adulthood, Nuria’s keyboard-based tunes have a moody and atmospheric quality and are blended with her soaring vocals and the super catchy beats. The Tasmanian based singer has been building up to the release of her debut album with six single releases and is garnering support from Australian community radio, including ABC Hobart and ABC Darwin, Triple R and features in local and international music blogs.

Nuria, meaning “fire of the lord”, speaks of passion, boldness and captures a spirit unhindered by the constraints of growing up. This energy is captured in her bold and expressive music, fusing electronic synths with her soulful and enigmatic vocals. I love her boundless energy and stunning voice that is flows into your heart with each word.

Touch‘ is a fantastic new song from Nuria who is on top form here. With lots of momentum building, you feel that she is really going for it and I think we could be witnessing the start of something special.

Timechyld is a fiercely indie creative artist from Melbourne who returns with the fantastic new song called ‘Happiness Redefined‘.

Timechyld is Australian multi-instrumentalist Andrew Rozen’s lovechild. His inspirational lifelong romance with riff-driven rock and 70’s style funk and soul. The mysteriously brilliant Melbourne artist is certainly bringing out some quality content during these covid-19 times. Music is flowing and this is up there with his best songs so far. His vocal delivery and hard-hitting style that catches your attention is back.

Friends” finds Marshall in a good place for a while before we are lowered into the story of wanting to be friends but also needing that alone time. This is a new artist inside as realizes that this is his path and if something is in the way, he needs to let go and grow. Inside however, you keep looking at your phone thinking briefly if it was the right decision.

Australian singer-songwriter Tullara’s reflective masterpiece ”Let This Go” dazzles through the darkness

Tullara has been creating a huge buzz on the Australian music scene ever since her first EP release ‘’Better Hold On’’ that dropped back in 2016. Born and raised on a parrot farm in Ramornie, Northern NSW, the indie-folk artist Tullara went on to win ‘Best EP’ at the 2017 Australian Roots Music Awards. A fine achievement indeed. This was the first step to an indie career that achieved an incredible 1,000,000 streams on Spotify in 2018 alone.

After her impressive ”16 Seconds” single from May 2020, ”Let This Go’‘ a fantastic follow up and showcases Tullara’s immense talent. Her voice is so uniquely beautiful and you can feel her authenticity.

You can feel this musicians crisp voice and the guitar riffs are so magnificent on ”Let This Go”. This song is all about speaking to a close person in your life but they don’t seem to love you anymore. This is a sad topic but is covered brilliantly by this fine indie artist. Australian singer Em George rises above all on masterful ”Wolves” EP

Em George is a soulful singer-songwriter from beautiful Sydney and became interested in songwriting after discovering the sounds of Stevie Nicks, Lou Reed, The Beatles and Leonard Cohen. She is here with her latest EP called ”Wolves” and this hits the highest of heights.

This is the sophomore EP from Em George after her self-tilted release from 2016 and this is like floating in a happy dream. Em’s vocals are so stunning as she effortlessly dazzles on this new EP.

Australia’s Em George reminisces about her recently passed grandmother on ”Fight” as she was such an important influence on her life. This is all about believing in your inner self and accepting who you are and never giving up despite the odds. This song has such an indie american-folk vibe to it and is puts you in a mellow zone.

Wolves” has a bouncy start to it as we are taken on a journey with with the powerful lyrics and earthy melodies. Em’s powerful voice is on full display here as she lays it on all the line.

Light Comes In” is probably my favorite song off the new EP. I like how Em George is so honest lyrically and I want to hear and understand every word coming about of her mouth. This is about bringing that light back into your soul and replenish your heart.

America” is such a road trip song it’s uncanny. I imagine listening to this while starting out the window of a train while travelling far. There is a more somber mood here as we get lots on the daydream from Em’s sumptuous vocals.

Open Road’‘ is a terrific way to end off the EP as it’s more acoustic and dreamy. This is all about just going for it and moving from that same dusty town. Is it worthwhile or should you move to fresh views?

Sydney’s Em George is in top form on this dreamy indie folk masterclass. I love how controlled her voice is and you can feel her magnificent songwriting is just getting better and better. She is one to watch and ”Wolves” EP is a fantastic release in 2020 as our souls need desperate healing.
