Powderpaint – This Being: Electrically Enigmatic 80’s Pop

To anyone who likes to get a little nostalgic about the 80’s; Powderpaint’s latest Pop track will take you right back before the chorus even hits. With the duo’s first ever single, they created a Synth Pop masterpiece which didn’t just rely on nostalgia to connect with their fellow New Wave aficionados. Their stylish approach to rhythm and harmony creates a high-vibe wave of euphoric effect. It’s got everything that you’d hope for and more, the walking bassline and the same synth pop punches that you’d find from bands such as Pet Shop Boys, The Human League and New Order. The Brighton based duo consists of band members James Cronin and Shonalika Tilak who describe their music as playing ‘fast and loose with chords and gender’ what’s not to love? They’ve brought the 80’s into the 21st century with their electrically enigmatic sound, that may or may not make you want to watch Top Gun after watching it.
