If you’re looking for a rush of aural nostalgia, look no further than In VideColour’s latest single “Friction Against the Grooves”. The intelligently put together soundscape is sure to be appreciated by fans with a penchant for the timeless sonic drive of 80s-style synths against concordantly light guitar progressions.
Yet, Friction Against the Grooves is no mere assimilation of former Synth-driven Pop artist’s hits. The Manchester-based artists have paid ode to their hometown roots with the elements of haunting Post Punk which they have weaved into their sound through the mesmeric licks of the heavily distorted guitar. Even though the single perceptibly fights against genre restraints, the resonance behind the accessible sound is nothing other than mesmeric.
