“Truth or Dare” is the arrestive Jazz-Infused Pop hit from up and coming fourpiece powerhouse Mama Yaya. It may be a shock to the system to hear a Pop single so rhythmic and Funk-driven, but once you come to appreciate Mama Yaya’s bold, daring, and vibrant approach to the genre, you’ll soon sink into the sweet aural magic which this record so effortlessly exudes.
If you can imagine what Christina Aguilera would have sounded like if she infused her sound with absorbing Rock progressions, you’d get a good idea of what Mama Yaya has to offer with their latest single.
There’s a palpably playful feel to Truth or Dare, even though there’s plenty of serious stylistic synergy from the instrumentals, the vocals carry an eccentrically sweet capacity to leave you arrested.
