From the first few notes of up and coming Rap artist Lyric’s latest single “Couldn’t Care Less” I was hit with the impression that it would be a captivating mix. And when the Alt Hip Hop rhythms were in full flow, I got my affirmation.
There aren’t many Rap artists who ensure that their tracks also come with infectious choruses, and catchy melodies along with the commanding bars and solid beats, but Lyrics definitely isn’t your average Rap artist. Their commitment to bringing fresh and explorative soundscapes to the airwaves is commendable. But despite their experimental approach to Hip Hop, they’ve still left plenty of familiar elements in there to make sure you’re well and truly immersed from the first time you hit play.
