King Catcher – I Need You: Don’t Worry, It’s Not Another Ode To Co-Dependency

King Catcher’s latest Pop Track ‘I Need You’ became an essential part of my playlists before the first verse had ran through. The pensive approach to the Pop soundscape hits you almost instantly. Yet, it’s with the repetition of the lyrics ‘I want you more than I need you’ that the empowering sentimentally of the track really starts to resonate in a haunting way with a style reminiscent of bands such as Interpol, the Horrors & the Editors. It’s safe to say I had little expectation from a Pop track called ‘I Need You’, it’s so much more than an ode to co-dependency, in fact, I Need You is a realist’s dream. The London based prodigal sons of Pop Andy James and Stephen Bodger have created a defiling alchemy through their progressively fierce approach to sound which I will almost certainly drink in time and time again.
