It’s fairly rare for a salacious Hip Hop Rap track to be executed so well, but Joshua J more than pulled it off with his latest single “Werk”; which for the most part, is due to the lyrical ingenuity. Instead of misogyny, you find the poetic flair in lines such as “the only thing she pays is attention” in the short and sweet hit which leaves the sentiment of the track undiluted.
With an almost spoken word delivery of the lyrics, you’ll be hooked from the first verse, and the melodic flow of the Trap beat makes it all too easy to immerse yourself in the playfully crass track which is sure to bring the up and coming Rap artist plenty of notoriety for his distinctive approach.
