Any fans of Alt R&B Pop will undoubtedly want to prick their ears up to the debut EP release from up and coming recording artist BethBanger. As her name would suggest, she has very little desire to fit into any of the archetypes of Pop – or any other genre for that matter.
While each of the singles on Self is as indulgently cathartic as the last, the standout single for us has to be “False Fake”. The single offers the perfect balance of soul, ambience, and attitude. While there are plenty of artists having fun fusing elements from different genres together, with False Fake, it’s instantly perceptible that the single is the result of BethBanger’s undiluted expression.
