Up and coming artist Jophiel released their single “I Love You” on December 14th, 2018 and for any fans of Synth Pop, you might want to prick up your ears and put Jophiel on your radar for 2019.
With an intro which could contend with Kraftwerk’s iconic hit ‘the Model’ the track gets off to a solid start, and the soundscape carries on with plenty of depth throughout the mix thanks to the solid bassline of the electronic track. There’s no denying that Jophiel has the vocal ability, yet, it was fairly hard to find any synergy between the vocals and the melody of the beat which compromised the resonance of the sound. And for a track like this, I couldn’t help but think that it would have benefited by being shortened as in some parts it was easy to feel that it was drawn out. But that’s not to say that Jophiel doesn’t have the potential as a Pop artist, and it will be exciting to hear her musical evolution through 2019.
