Teezie ThaGawd – NEXT ft YK Osiris: Orchestrally Atmospheric Hip Hop

Teezie ThaGawd is the kind of Hip Hop artist who has the ability to change the contemporary perception of the genre. Instead of using a grating amount of vocal reverb atop of tinny, rattling beats, for his latest single “NEXT”, he used his pioneering ingenuity to cook up something fresh, and intricately ingenious out of the multi-layer mix. Teezie ThaGawd’s clever use of samples and electronic arrangements stood as a testament to his ability to get experimental and still keep his sound accessible. In fact, its far more accessible than your typical Trap artist.

Expect orchestral effects, around a transcendentally light beat with a few offerings of sonic waviness thrown in for good effect. Vocally, Teezie ThaGawd didn’t fail to command plenty of authority through his bars, and to perfect the track, he added the vocal dynamics of YK Osiris to create the most well-rounded Rap track we’ve heard this year.
