Kevin Braun has released their all too relatable single “Dark Side of the Mind”

I’m fairly sure I’m not the only one who will have been getting acquainted with the darker side of my mind in recent months, and I’m fairly sure I’m not the only one who will find Kevin Braun’s piercingly resonant single Dark Side of the Mind a playlist-worthy hit.

The Alt-Rock single experimentally incorporates elements of both Industrial and Pop. Which may not seem like an aural match made in heaven, but under Kevin Braun’s alluringly deft production, they fit hand in glove.

Thanks to the grinding rhythms, it’s as sexy as Nine Inch Nails’ more sultry tracks and as visceral and electrifying as Static X’s noisy mechanical hits. The contrast between the ferocity of the instrumentals and the harmonic magnetism of Kevin Braun’s vocals ensures you’ve never heard anything quite like this before. Even if you’ve been struggling to get excited by new music lately, Dark Side of the Mind won’t fail to hit the spot.

US Indie Pop artist Help Society has released their debut album “Gettin’ Low & Lettin’ Go”

From the first few sonically-charged synth notes in US-based artists Help Society’s latest single Better, we were hooked.

Better is just one of the immersive and connectable tracks from Help Society’s album Gettin’ Low & Lettin’ Go. Each Darkwave track tackles a different facet of grief. And each track has plenty of organic and sincere resolving energy poured into it.

Largely, grief goes unspoken about. People tend not to like broaching the subject, but Help Society definitely wasn’t shy about laying down warm and compassionate sentiments over the shimmering synth-carved soundscape in Better.

If any track has the power to unite the goths and the Indie kids, it’s Better. There’s a gritty dark allure under the high-vibe tones giving Better a full-rounded feel which mirrors the complexity of grief-stricken emotion. It’s a constant battle to feel fragments of euphoria when experiencing grief, Help Society will help you get there.

S.N.O drops fantastic debut darkwave track ”Psychopath”

US artist S.N.O (Seriously No One) is a new Dark-wave synth-pop indie singer-songwriter. She has just dropped her debut track that is moody and an absolute revelation. It’s called ”Psychopath” and you need to turn this up loud.

”Psychopath” is about making the connection between the trauma we are exposed to and how those experiences shape who we become. Some turn out darker than others. The beat was also home-made which makes this even better. A socket wrench from the garage paired with a sturdy knife on a sharpening block from S.N.O’s kitchen is the backbone of the song and this truly makes the track so uniquely awesome.

S.N.O is completely unshackled now and this is a song that is brooding and thought-provoking. I love the vocals that make me listen again and again. Her voice is cutting edge and this is one of the more intriguing releases of 2020.

Joel Christian – Rise from the Grave: Entrancingly Super-Charged Darkwave EBM

Fans of EBM and Darkwave will undoubtedly want to check out the aural insanity contained in up and coming artist and producer Joel Christian’s latest release “Rise from the Grave”.

While it may be dark enough to appease Dance music fans whose playlists consist of the likes of Suicide Commando, Front 242, and VNV Nation, Rise from the Grave also carries a palpable amount of mainstream potential.

Alongside the super-charged euphorically danceable beats, you’ll find overdriven guitar riffs toward the outro giving Rise from the Grave extra added convictive bite.

If any contemporary produced mix could take the shine off iconic hits such as Kernkraft 400’s Zombie Nation, it’s this one.

Bow ‘N’ Arrow – Heavy Snow in Colorado: Atmospherically Entrancing Alt Indie Pop

FRNDS AS CMPNY has made their debut with the Indie Synth Wave single “White Flag”

Authentic Indie may be harder to find than a needle in a haystack, but we’ve struck gold with the debut single “White Flag” from FRNDS AS CMPNY.

The synth-led soundscape is as captivating as it is sensuous, as you can imagine, that’s quite the alchemic aural combination. White Flag may borrow an element or two from 80s Synthwave and Darkwave Electronica. Yet, with their distinctive production style, you can fall in love with the transfixing synthesised tones once more.

Any fans of Depeche Mode, New Order, and Kraftwerk will definitely see the appeal in White Flag. There’s a nuanced pinch of moody dark atmospherics, but the shimmering atmospheric production gives White Flag a transcendently rapturous feel which you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

The production has an ambient, light, and dreamy melodic feel, yet, 57rAng3r 7hing5 D0Wn5!D3 Up in the Up5!D3 D0Wn W0rlD isn’t a track which you mindlessly slip into. The striking tones of the ethereal electronic effects and overdriven guitars will make sure every seamlessly unpredictable guitar progression has your full attention.

We often speak of tracks being magnetic, but this time, you almost feel as though you’re being pulled into a Lynchian dystopic aural black hole. Their ability to blend melancholy with transcendental energy is unparalleled.

Holy Boy – Elegy: Gently Striking Dark Dreamwave

There are very few Dreamwave soundscapes which boast the same vice-like captivating grip as the standout single “Elegy” from Holy Boy (AKA Helene Alexandra Jæger).

There’s a slight nuanced touch of Art Pop within Elegy. Yet, the distinction in the soundscape is only matched by how accessible the gently striking single is. With everyone from David Lynch to Joy Division influencing the LA-based artist’s sound, you can rest assured that you’ll delve into an ethereally cathartic soundscape with Elegy.

With a highly anticipated debut album due to drop in 2020, there’s never been any better time to join the hype of Holy Boy’s monochrome mesmeric tones. Any fans of Portishead definitely won’t want to hang around in putting this artist on their radar

Twink Privilege – Daddy: An Atmospheric Ode to 80s Darkwave Electronica

Even in 2020, heteronormative tracks dominate the airwaves. So, it’s incredibly refreshing to come across an artist such as the Alt Electronic Pop act Twink Privilege.

Their most recent release “Daddy” is an atmospheric ode to the 80s Darkwave sound with plenty of contemporary textures thrown in to give Daddy a potent serving of contemporary magnetism.

Once you’re immersed within the gentle melodic electronic rhythms, Daddy becomes a captivating almost transcendentally danceable soundscape. The lyrics give a nuanced nod to a relationship dynamic that we may not all share, but you can still feel the raw, unadulterated passion all the same.

With the stylishly smoky and smooth production, hypnotic vocals, and intricately mesmeric beats, Daddy stands as a testament to the talent of Twink Privilege which we hope to hear more of in 2020.

Sage Morei – Spin: Futuristic Darkwave EDM Alt Rock

Up and coming Alt Rock artist Sage Morei made their darkly mesmeric debut on February 2nd with their single “Spin”. Someone may want to tell Peter Murphy that there’s a new contender for goth supreme.

With futuristic darkwave beats along with a seductively ominous vocal prowess, it’s all too easy to get pulled into the murky depths of Spin which has given the evolution of Rock a brand-new trajectory.

Spin fuses Traditional Rock components with the modernity of hard-hitting atmospheric electronica which any fans of Nine Inch Nails and Celldweller will definitely appreciate. There may be reminiscences to other artists, but the distinction will hit you harder than any similarity.

There’ll be plenty more to come from Sage Morei in 2020, they’re well worth placing on your radar.
