There will never be enough acoustically-driven Trap on the soundwaves, so naturally, Mista’s latest drop “Love Me or Not” from his latest album 24/7 was a welcome aural offering of urban rhythm. The acoustic progressions may have carried a slight reminiscence to Timberlake’s Cry Me a River which was a little hard to ignore. Yet, when the accessible rhythm combined with the relentlessly fluid Trap beat, the contrast in the multi-layered mix was the perfect balance of vibe and anthemic energy. With his authentically fresh lyrical style there was no need for effects on his instantly accessible vocal style, while he versed the bars which flowed like fiery poetry.
