It’s fairly rare that we will have the pleasure of calling Hip Hop arrestive. But with the mesmeric genre mash that Marcus Alland cooked up with his debut single “Come Alive”, there are few other ways to allude to the aural alchemy contained within the fiercely fresh mix.
The elements of Indie which Marcus wrapped up in this single set the atmospherics from the start before the beat transgresses into a slightly more typical Hip Hop style. The wavy and distorted instrumental arrangement made for the perfect platform for Marcus Alland to lay down his smooth, commanding vocal style which makes it all too easy to get pulled along with the flow of this mix.
We don’t get hear many debuts as promising as Come Alive, but it’s safe to assume that we’ll never be disappointed by what Marcus Alland throws at us.
