Kevin Jones – Barista Girl: Sticky-Sweet Psych Pop

Indiana-based up and coming artist Kevin Jones’ latest single “Barista Girl” kicks off with instantly captivating narrative lyrics alluding to that bittersweet feeling of unrequited infatuation. We’ve all been there, and there have been plenty of similar honeyed Psych Pop soundscapes paying an ode to the futility of longing. Yet the candid nature of Barista Girl amplifies the resonance, and you can’t help finding empathy, well, unless you’re a little dead inside.

Instrumentally, Barista Girl is accessible and comes highly recommended to any fans of ELO the Beatles, or anyone with a penchant for the contagious melodies which were rife in the 60s and 70s.  With Barista Girl, you’ll find the same sunny, psychedelic rhythms which almost seem to spill with colour.
