Jimi and the Strangers – Keep on Killing Me: Infectiously Ethereal Alt Rock

Keep on Killing Me by Jimi and The Strangers

After checking out Jimi and the Strangers latest track Keep on Killing Me I’m still in awe that such a soulful Alt Rock sound came out of Nottingham, UK. Their Americana style take to their alternative sound in the track is a vibrantly uplifting mix of country, rock, and the roots of rhythm and blues. Even with the slightly melancholic lyrics it’s infectiously ethereal.

Keep on Killing me is a sweet yet sombre rock ballad that any fan of traditional sound is sure to appreciate. Yet the bands approach to making music isn’t all too traditional, which explains a lot about their name! The and was created by Lee Thomas and James Mortimer who scout out uniquely talented vocalists and instrumentalists from all around the UK to ensure that their sound never stays stagnant. Jimi and the Strangers first started to create their bitter sweet anthemic rock back in 2014, however Keep on Killing Me, takes a totally different approach to their earlier tracks such as You Aint Right with a more pensive touch and guitar-driven vibrant sound.
