Birdeatsbaby – Better Man A Potent Infusion of Neoclassical and Progressive Rock

“Better Man” is the title track from Birdeatsbaby’s arrestingly stunning 4-track EP which any fans of Apocalyptica are going to want to pay attention to.  For seven aurally tantalising minutes, you’re treated to progressive melodies which flow with archaic powerful twists. You’re led from a prelude of light piano notes around the odd doom-infusing stabbing of notes into one of the most ethereal compositions of progressive rock that you’re likely to ever hear.

Once the full momentum of the concordance kicks in you can truly appreciate the cabaret style of the Brighton-based artist’s sound, which has been experimented with in the past by the likes of the Dresden Dolls, yet they never came close to orchestrating such a rich arrangement with seamlessly fluid synergy leading you through a soundscape laced with raw emotive energy and potently fierce vocals.
