While many electronica artists promise a transcendental experience with their soundscapes, very few do it with the same levels of magnetic concordance as can be heard on tau0ns instantly arrestive latest 3-track EP “Time is Silence”.
Instead of creating your average Electronica soundscapes, tau0n create aural explorations of sound which lead you through a variety of transmutations; each one being a journey to the peak of the tempo and right back down again. Whilst there are certainly elements of minimalism in the sound is also a fair enough serving of infectious rhythm when the tempo dares to amplify.
There’s also a lot to be said for what the vocals bring to the tracks on Time is Silence – in the title track especially. With “Bottom of the Hole” you’re treated to a slightly harsher but still just as atmospheric sound filled with some fairly filthy techno beats. And Winter Flesh may be the most mellifluously compelling offering of electronica I’ve heard this year, the elements of Shoegaze, Funk, and Pop did not go unappreciated.
From this release, it’s all too evident that tau0n is an artist who is all about the stylistic ingenuity and we can’t wait to see what comes next for the up and coming artist.
