All in the Nothing – Better This Way: A Debut Any Fans of the Cure Need to Listen To

“Better This Way” is the mesmerising debut single from Indie artist All in the Nothing. Hit play and prepare for a flood of synthy 80s nostalgia complete with a smorgasbord of contemporary appeal.

You’ll find nuances of The Cure, Bowie and The Midnight, but in its essence, Better This Way is an organically expressive single which is all too easy to slip into and appreciate the ingenuity alongside the visceral undiluted romanticism. It’s laden with lovelorn melancholy, but it won’t fail to hit the evocative spot and leave your soul suitably appeased.

Ondist – So Fragile: Soul-Swellingly Good Synthpop

“So Fragile” is just one of the tenderly inviting contained on Electronica trio Ondist’s strikingly unique third album Electricity. All too often in Electronica, sentiments can feel a little synthetic, but So Fragile was never in danger of being unevocative. The vigorously high-vibe feel comes in equal measure through the undemanding yet entrancing Electronic beats and Maya Coppola’s distinctively alluring vocal timbre.

Once you look at the dynamic of Ondist, you may start to understand why their Synthpop sound is as eclectic as it is electric. Corbin Dooley, Nick Poortman, and Maya Coppola are located across Arkansas, New Zealand and New York. The fact this album was released almost feels serendipitous. It’s a collision of contrasting aural vision, you can practically hear the collaborative chemistry.

Gold Record – On Notice: Nostalgically Accessible, Futuristically Fresh Funk-Soaked Indie Synth Pop

Up and coming trio Gold Record’s debut release On Notice is a nostalgically accessible, futuristically fresh feat of Funk-soaked Indie Synth Pop.

The sultry grooves in the infectiously melodic soundscape are paired with vocals which carry reminiscences with artists such as John Grant. Naturally, On Notice drips with commercial potential.

It’s a rare track which offers energetically danceable beats, but no matter where or when you hear On Notice, it’s guaranteed to lift your mood with the organic good vibes which spill from the persona of the artists.

If the lush synth lines don’t do it for you, the sax solo which brings in the outro definitely will.

Immerse yourselves in Enlightenment Saloon’s latest single “Driving on Instinct” and prepare for the nuancedly crafted catharsis.

Ambient Synthwave with absorbing guitar licks in a futuristically captivating soundscape was always going to be a potently transfixing combination. But the stylistic maturity in Driving on Instinct surpasses expectation and leads to transcendence.

Enlightenment Saloon may send you a few 80s postcards while Driving on Instinct progresses. Yet, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more authentic and captivating drive-home track if you turned on the radio.

After being introduced to the artist’s mesmerising approach to production, I will definitely be returning to their music for repeat doses of synth-led ambience. The blazing guitar solos are practically addictive.

Matthew Bertram – Destiny: Synthy-Sweet Alt Indie Pop

If you’re looking for a synthy-sweet Pop treat to liven up your playlists, Matthew Bertram’s second album Destiny will sate any aural sugar cravings.

While each track on the artist’s sophomore album carries an arsenal of euphoria, the best introduction to Matthew Bertram’s playfully captivating style is the title track. Good vibes are guaranteed.

In Destiny, 80s Synth Pop and modern Lo-Fi Indie Experimental Pop combine along with hints of Indie Alt Rock. Matthew Bertram boundlessly creative approach to production along with the magnetically expressive Indie Pop vocals instantly puts Matthew Bertram leagues apart from any other Alt Synth Pop artist we’ve heard this year.

Even though Matthew Bertram achieved a vibrant and resounding sound with Destiny, there’s still an incredibly enamouring intimate appeal to the soundscape. Naturally, we’re hooked. And we’re fairly sure that you’ll share our new-found obsession as soon as you hit play too.

Out of the album Mentality, synthwave sounds and deep bass loops merge together in the new track by Yilgoren Music titled Move In.

Coming in at only 2:02, this instrumental track shapes on waves and pulsing sounds accompanied by fast tapping slow beats glued together in a modern new-wave outcome. A DJ production that deserves all due respect for staying within a defined soundline without overwhelming the atmosphere with deep electronic boosts while still being able to deliver a placid vibe.

As you can hear in more of the artist’s efforts throughout the album, Yilgoren Music produces chill atmospheres that range from cheerful to weighty but still maintains a controlled combination of sounds.

Dan Plants and Nate Cronk- Stay: A journey through the sound of Synthwave

‘‘Stay’’ was created by two great friends Dan Plants and Nate Cronk, it dives straight into the Synthwave style as it introduces a variety of different sound effects as well as some catchy vocals.

From start to finish it has this up-lifting beat that gives the track so much energy, there’s a mixture of hard-hitting drum beats, insane riffs on the guitar as well as the synth effects that intertwine themselves into the vocals and instrumentation.

It tells a story throughout about love and heartbreak, but even if it tends to have a more poignant meaning, it still manages to keep your spirits high as the melody is so contagious and it gives off this cheery feeling.

Dan and Nate have made something that’s creative, something that may not be for everyone, considering the overall sound is not as popular as it once was, but even then Stay shows just how good it can be. It has some incredible rhythms and a superb lyrical approach, if you’re one that hasn’t really delved into the world of Synthwave music then you must!

FRNDS AS CMPNY has made their debut with the Indie Synth Wave single “White Flag”

Authentic Indie may be harder to find than a needle in a haystack, but we’ve struck gold with the debut single “White Flag” from FRNDS AS CMPNY.

The synth-led soundscape is as captivating as it is sensuous, as you can imagine, that’s quite the alchemic aural combination. White Flag may borrow an element or two from 80s Synthwave and Darkwave Electronica. Yet, with their distinctive production style, you can fall in love with the transfixing synthesised tones once more.

Any fans of Depeche Mode, New Order, and Kraftwerk will definitely see the appeal in White Flag. There’s a nuanced pinch of moody dark atmospherics, but the shimmering atmospheric production gives White Flag a transcendently rapturous feel which you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

ReveLever – Play with the Fire: A Synthpop Minefield of Melodic Hooks

I’m fairly convinced that old school 80s analogue synths will never lose their mesmeric appeal. Even more so after hearing the latest single “Play with the Fire” from Netherlands-based artist ReveLever.

The striking synthesised notes create the perfect platform for the female vocals to sit neatly above as they exude hypnotic levels of magnetism. As usual, the lyrics have been left light. Yet they still efficaciously draw you deeper into the mix which is an aural minefield of melodic hooks.

Play with the Fire may not be the most innovative or bold soundscape. Instead, it’s a captivating revival of the 80s Synthwave sound. ReveLever has found the perfect balance between dark and light in Play with Fire. There may be some moody tones found in the mix, yet, there’s also sensual warmth and effervescent charm.
