Kevin Capehart drops debut solo single to reinvigorate his soul, Among the Trees

Realising that she’s the one that he needs, Kevin Capehart sings with so much love and conviction via the superb song to feel inspired about in nature, Among the Trees.

Kevin Capehart is a Richmond, Virginia-based indie folk multi-instrumentalist who was previously in various local bands and has found his voice after taking a break from the music world.

Music has always been an important part of my life, but in the past, I’ve let my insecurities get in the way. When my best friend died at 36 years old I realized how valuable life was and that nothing is guaranteed. I don’t want to waste my life doing what people expect me to do. I want to live every day doing what I love.” Kevin Capehart, reflecting on the inspiration behind his return

After starting a family and dealing with his own demons, Kevin Capehart shows us all that it is possible to reach your dreams no matter what. He does himself proud here and has made a proper song to love forever.

Among the Trees from Richmond, Virginia-based indie folk artist Kevin Capehart is one of the most honest singles released in any generation. This is simply awe-inspiring stuff and should shake many senseless hearts around, to bring us all a piece of truly caring music to turn up loud.

When the world is noisy, going back to your roots will surely stimulate the soul.

Pluto Mars proved that casual relationships can be a lifeline in his RnB hip hop single, 3 AM

Richmond, CA rap luminary Pluto Mars poured romanticism into booty calls in his latest single, 3 AM, which captured the intimacy of the late-night connections by proving that insomniacs need love too while feeding the soul through his seductive amalgam of hip hop, pop, and RnB.

Every artist in the industry attests to having a unique sound; Pluto Mars is one of the only innovators with stake to that claim. Virginia rockers Halfcast hopes she will finally let them go on ‘Blue and Gold’

Return by Halfcast

Taken from their recent 10-track release and 2nd album called ‘Return‘, Halfcast feels the lip-licking vultures looming rather closely on a ferociously raw single to wake us up from any self-enforced slumber we have been facing lately on ‘Blue and Gold‘.

Halfcast is a Richmond, Virginia-based indie alternative scrap-rock/grunge band who are exactly what we required for our intense proggy needs.

They pound the table down and show so much strength when others would fold. Halfcast appear to have risen from the dust and sound in ultra reinvigorated form, with a simply sensational performance that is right from their heart and shall rattle your insides just when you needed it most..

Blue and Gold‘ from Richmond, Virginia-based indie alternative scrap-rock/grunge band Halfcast is one of the more enjoyable grooves your spine might encounter today. They have riffs for days, a tight sound that has been meshed rather brilliantly together as one, and seems to make that proper rock sound that has been hiding away from the masses for too long.

When you feel you are done for, pick up your pieces and move into a better place.

The three Andrews fire it up: Virginia rockers Bandrew heat up the speakers on ‘Color Me Burnt’

Dropped from the guitar-smashing album ‘In the Meantime‘, Bandrew light the fuse and fire in with the excellent ‘Color Me Burnt‘.

Bandrew are a three-piece indie-rock band from Richmond, Virginia, that have three Andrew’s that form the band and are like brothers, who make exhilarating music to wake us up and help us to remember those sweaty and small, but legendary live band venues that either makes, or breaks you.

Oregon Hill forged these three music obsessed souls together, in order to mesh a tight bond that has been unbreakable since 2016 and they are currently working on new music during this horrific pandemic, that has stopped live music in its tracks.

This is the story about how some may turn their back to the firefight while others go head first to save others. Maybe its not the best idea but you are going to do what you can, instead of not trying at all.

The ferocious guitar riffs are such a pleasure to hear and this reminds me of the good old days of music. They have so much honesty woven throughout the track and this is the true underdog local act that I can only imagine; leave it all out on stage and drive the crowds wild when live. The driving bass-lines and crashing drums, meshes with the storied vocals and smashes headfirst into your face and gets that dusty body moshing again to this top single.

Bandrew are so ravishingly raw and absolutely riveting on ‘Color Me Burnt‘. With new music on the way, they are a proper band that are close and love playing together. With so many fake posers and flash in the pans out there who don’t last long, this is exactly the type of music that lights up the eyes of the common music fan. These are the people that the band play for and therefore need to be loved and supported while they are still around.

United by sonic purpose, you can’t help but feel inspired when you turn this up to the max.

All that hard work gives you the munchies and these are deliciously satisfied on the outstandingly outlandish single. The South American salsa is on full show here as this is a musician who is clearly confident in his ability, and knows where he stands with the ladies.

This is the story of being a local at the diner in your town and you are known to all the staff there. The love of food is brilliantly mixed in with messages about being someone that doesn’t need a second invitation for a worthwhile party. His ferocious lyrical delivery brings a smile the face as this feels like early Ludacris in his prime.

The criminally underrated emcee is on top form with ‘Salsa & Chips’ by the Bar Area artist J-Money as he wets the appetite for more delicious tracks. His skillful wordplay is at a wizardry level and he turns up the heat here with rhymes that adds a humorous and oven cooked snack to proceedings.

Tyler Meacham – ‘Denver’

Tyler Meacham’s ‘Denver’ is country alt-pop at its best. Hailing from Richmond, VA, Meacham creates folk-infused music that transports you to another time that’s drenched in sepia.

‘Denver’ begins with a delicate chord progression that immediately begins to paint the backdrop for the tender subject matter: a story of lost love. As the wistful lyrics come to play, we realise that Meacham is singing about a past relationship and the “what ifs” that permeate her wandering mind. Following Meacham’s regretful tone within the vocal is a collection of country-style keys. A flowing, smooth slide guitar then soars in to join the aforementioned sounds; it’s these aural components working together seamlessly that conjure the nostalgic atmosphere of the song most powerfully.

The soft sounds ebb into the first chorus. But suddenly, the drums pound in – courtesy of Dusty Ray – taking the song to the next level. This expansive sound kicks the second verse up a notch as the full band come to the fore. Meacham’s voice becomes more potent in the next chorus. The band take a step back and her voice hits those expressive notes that reflect the emotive nature of the song. Then, we’re treated to a holistic, engaging instrumental where the lead guitar takes centre stage.

The final chorus takes us back to the calm, serene vocal as ‘Denver’ draws to a close. But that’s not before we crash back into one last, loud section before the quiet, peaceful acoustic guitar returns, coming full circle as Meacham’s impassioned vocal rings out true.

The Wryters Drop Their Flammable New Track ‘I’m on Fire’

The Wryters don’t need any formal introduction to this Hip Hop heavy Californian rap duo to true Rap Fans, they’ve got a back catalogue of tracks that will have you hooked for hours.

There are no shortages of Rap acts dominating California, but The Wryters have the ability to stand out in an over-crowded scene. With their self-proclaimed old-style flow and their modern punchy bass, it’s a sound that is definitely not to be missed.

Their music bounces between seductive, humorous and testosterone pumped, but their new track On Fire definitely caught our attention; with its super catchy chorus it infuses you with up-beat cacophonies of heavy swag sound. What really made this track stand out was the wrenching energy beyond the realist lyrics. They refer to all of the shootings at the clubs with their smooth style which stamps authority with over their hard sound. Their attitude is refreshingly honest raw and powerful. Their playful attitude makes an awesomely upbeat track.

My only criticism that the track  at 2:07  minutes long wasn’t long enough just as you were immersed within the pounding, perfectly polished packed full of bass it fades out, demanding you hit reply.
