You Like My Life: 301 Pacs sees the sneaky vultures circling viciously on ‘Life Jacket’

As he looks down and straps up to pre-empt the collision that is possibly on the way, 301 Pacs smartly thinks ahead to be one step ahead of his evil enemies with the excellent new single ‘Life Jacket‘.

301 Pacs is an underground Maryland, USA-based indie Hip-Hop artist who seems to possess a rare skill on the mic to eloquently portray the picture he is presenting.

There is no unnecessary huff and puff that smokes out the whole story here, the flash is instead swapped with that raw storyteller grind that makes him a true unsung gem that needs to be respected. With a razor-like Gillette sharpness that is ready to bleed at any moment, you feel like this is a Lion waiting for his chance to roar into life when provoked too far.

I started writing raps since I was 13 to cope with depressive episodes.” ~ 301 Pacs

Life Jacket‘ from the Maryland, USA-based indie Hip-Hop solo artist 301 Pacs, is a thoroughly passionate freestyle-type track from a hardcore artist who doesn’t mess around. He has tasted success and sees those hawk-like eyes watching his movements – some so-called friends and others known foes – who are just waiting to bring him down when he show any sort of weakness. This is a true story in a dog-eat-dog type of world that voraciously ready to bite your earnings away from your bowl, when you let your leash get too tight and stumble.

There is fire everywhere, guns are casually swung around like kids toys, and the Rap-Rock is so ravaging and extremely raw. These young men are clearly angry with the world and 2020 has just added more paraffin to an already burning mosh pit of disillusionment. With job losses at record levels, so much hate around and twisted 5G news strewn all over TV sets globally, this is the worrying state of affairs currently for many. When drugs are easier to find than work, this creates a flaming fire-pit as Felix & Cyko join forces with Treeburke to light the fuse on this dangerous Halloween track called ‘Shotout‘.

The Rap-Rock is so fearsome and this is a video that you will either love or hate. The visuals are disturbing and the raps blow a massive whole into the speakers. The clear frustration is so obvious to see as these young rapper shred everything in their path on the streets of Pittsburgh.

Raw Indie-Rock with San Diego band Happy K-O ‘s ‘’Alarm Clock’’ single

Based in San Diego, California, Happy K-O are just that. A happy band who just want to play live and jam out to an appreciative crowd. Their grungy style is a treat to listen to as it’s so raw. I imagine their live shows to be a packed, small and intimate club experience with real music fans. Sounds like a perfect night out to me.

Formally of Colorado Springs, Colorado, this 2 Piece band is slowly getting more music out and let’s hope they can catch that big break and get noticed by the masses. This is a fun band to listen to and hopefully they can go on tour soon.

Happy K-O will appeal to punk rock fans and it will be interesting to see how they mature. Turn them up and skate away.

Moody and introspective – Perry Ripley releases The Storm

Walking into a storm could be interpreted in a multitude of ways but most likely signifies how someone is still willing to leap through even though their universe may be falling apart. That storm is a whirlpool of experiences, challenges and above all, emotions, depicted by Perry Ripley in his new release The Storm.

Moody and introspective, a true lyricist more than just an artist, Perry Ripley distinguishes himself for a canny approach to songwriting and arrangements developed through a dynamic track segmentation that gradually grows in momentum.

You’re free to define it as alternative, but the electronic imprint pushes his style towards a compound of indietronica, indie pop and dream pop, to the likes of one of my favorite, and I believe extremely talented, artists, Eden. In this track, Perry Ripley achieves nothing less.

I seriously can’t wait to hear more from this guy, and you might want to check him out for yourself by heading over here.

Jackboyvick has dropped his latest track Make A Scene (BUMMEE TAPE untold story)

https://soundcloud.com/jackboyvick/make-a-scene

International Rap and Hip-Hop artist Jackboyvick has dropped his latest single ‘Make A Scene’, this is what Rap is all about.

What really stands out in this track, is the revised vocals they’re what makes this song so fun to listen too, using the technique of sampling beats, repeating the lyrics  in a more techno sound after each verse is rapped to give it that Hip-Hop feel, each word is strong and the pitch stays at this mellow pace.

The instrumentation and the use of sound really stands out within this piece, you can hear throughout the use of different synthesiser beats to create the overall rhythmic sound.

RVANA SHMATA – Well Hello: Raw Noise Rock

There’s urgency in RVANA SHMATA’s music, an element that many could argue that’s missing from a lot of rock bands these days. Or maybe, it’s like Keith Richards said in his documentary on Netflix: “Rock n’ Roll abandoned Roll and became just Rock”.

“Well Hello” is a song that marginally, could be described as noise rock. The most distinguished element on this track is the suffocating atmosphere the drums are creating. I enjoy how the almost out of tune bass guitar is scratching my skin and the electric guitar which while it appears to be the most buried instrument in the production, however somehow it all works fine resulting in a tight sound. If your favourite part in a rock band is the rhythm section, I guess. As for the singing, on the clean parts, it sounds alright and when it’s time for some growling they sound even better.

This is a raw composition, regardless it doesn’t feel like it is pointless nor like it is lacking purpose. On the contrary, in this song I listen to a band that has an identity.

Listen to “Well Hello” on their Soundcloud page.
