Under Stolen Skies Have Made Their Debut with the Super-Charged Unifying Punk Rock Hit “State of I”

Under Stolen Skies

Punk angst and poetic poignancy sit hand in hand in up and coming Alt Rock artist Under Stolen Skies’ debut single “State of I”.

Any fans of Rage Against the Machine’s high-octane all-consuming energy will definitely appreciate the experimentally absorbing Nu Metal single. And yes, the single comes with the Morello-style improvised intricate guitar breakdowns which will make your synapses feel suitably rearranged.

Reminiscences aside, Under Stolen Skies’ sound could never have been born through mere assimilation. The urgency, the authenticity, and the sheer performative conviction well and truly put them in a league of their own.

The Canadian artist has been firmly affixed to our radar after hearing State of I, you’ll undoubtedly follow suit once you get a taste of just how fresh their sound is.

Bazerk – Track 4: The Prodigal Sons of Numetal Have Dropped Another Viral-Worthy Hit

I had high hopes for a band named “Bazerk” and they were met as soon as I hit play on their single “Track 4” The crunchy guitar licks and bendy basslines crashed against the relentlessly rolling drum rhythms matched by Rap Metal style vocals. The DJ scratching in the mix adds even more hype to the already dizzyingly anthemic track.

If the first thing that pops to mind when I say, “Rap Metal”, is Limp Bizkit, Bazerk just made him seem even more of a novelty. You can expect more of a Mike Patton, Rage Against the Machine, Cypress Hill or Beastie Boys vibe from the up and coming Alt Rock artists. Whilst Bazerk carry reminiscence to our favourite Numetal artists from the 90’s and 00s, make no mistake that they’re merely assimilating a former sound. The accessibility and familiarity in the raw sound may be there but Track 4 is as prodigal as it gets for the genre.

You can check out Track 4 along with the rest of Bazerk’s releases by heading over to SoundCloud now. With already over a million views on their first track “5Piece of Me” expect big things in the future for Bazerk.

D.Ni.L – Glue: Textured Guitars, Rap Metal Vocals… What More Do You Want?

It’s official. Rap Metal crossovers are officially my favourite infusion of sounds and D.Ni.L are now up there with my favourite genre benders. Their latest single Glue is an unfaltering, transcendently raucous mix of sounds you’d associate with Muse, Radiohead and Harsh Hip Hop artists such as Run DMC & Public Enemy.

The track progresses from a Indie Trap introduction before being hit by the fuzzy reverb from the guitar which creates the perfect cacophony of sound for the Rap Metal Vocals to chase whilst the backing vocals create a creeping resonance through Thom York style echoing harmoniously builds texture to the sound. The amount of progression and experimentation that is contained in this 3 minute track is insane. There’s no better word for it.

If you’re a fan of the experimental, you can check out the official music video to the colossal hit Glue by D.Ni.L which was released on April 27th 2018 on YouTube.

Make sure to subscribe to D.Ni.L’s channel, Glue is just the first single to be released off their upcoming album Boy Inside.
