Mindful Hip Hop

NA$A takes mindful Hip Hop to the next level with his sophomore release ‘O.G.’

Brisbane-based, Auckland-hailing Rap artist NA$A dropped their second release, O.G. on November 20th, which takes mindful Hip Hop to the next level. In turn, the sophomore release allowed NA$A to establish himself as an essential artist to add to your high-vibe Hip Hop playlists.

The bass behind the trancey EDM Hip Hop beats allow the instrumentals to parallel the energy which NA$A vocally brought to the high-octane mix which isn’t just accessible from the first hit. You’ll become transfixed by the rhythmically convictive progressions as they weave through the infectious yet intricate melodies.

In essence, O.G. is an invitation to realise your responsibility to make big things happen. Not just for yourself, but for those closest to you too. All this is done through a nostalgic throwback to hood days and recognising the trials and tribulations which many people need to overcome. There’s a nuanced recognition that not everyone shares the same vantage point in life, but that’s no reason why you can’t strive for success – whichever form you want that to manifest in.

With the way in which NA$A addresses morality and mindfulness in a religious context while not alienating atheists or faith followers, he sets an incredible example of how music can be the ultimate unifying tool.

The short and soulfully sweet drop is set to make a massive impact on the airwaves, and with plenty of forthcoming releases in the pipeline,  you’ll definitely want the trailblazing artist on your radar.

Fall into the momentum of Law’s blazingly introspective Rap hit “On the Low”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USB9GmUDggo

Austrian Rap artist Law is known for his high-energy approach to Hip Hop, with their latest single On the Low which dropped on October 9th, they’ve put the pedal to the metaphoric metal once more and cooked up a relentlessly rhythmic aural storm.

With producer Jerry Divmond in charge of the hook-laden beats and Law’s ability to verse poetry through fierce conviction, you really can’t help falling into the momentum of the unmissable release.

On the Low utterly demolishes the misconceptions which float around Hip Hop artists as Law attacks the tendency for artists to depict themselves as someone they’re not just to fulfil a stereotype. More importantly, he invites you to follow his lead and refuse to waste energy on people who try to hold you back.

Don C – Living Alright featuring $togie Bryant

Living Alright is the oceanically hazy second single to be released from up and coming Hip Hop artist Don C which follows on from his debut single Life. He may have dropped the tempo in his second single, but the amount of soul and energy remains as a constant between the two releases.

Only after hearing the fresh new take on old school Hip Hop, did I realise how few humbly reflective Rap tracks are on the airwaves. The gratified introspective which is laid down in Living Alright is essential on the airwaves right now.

As the Rap bars run through the resonant lyrics, the Jazz-soaked warm, smooth beats create an ambient flow to give Living Alright a sunny cathartic feel. By bringing $togie Bryant in on the mix, Don C created a well-rounded mix which fans of contemporary Hip Hop and Old School alike will appreciate.
