Collective Beats send us message of hope with Zero Malaria Campaign inspired ‘Win This Way’

Collective Beats send us a peaceful message about spreading the word of the terrible malaria disease ‘Win This Way‘.

With an exciting collaboration and fantastic fusion of artists, cultures and sounds, Collective Beats was initiated at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. They have managed to deliver their new debut ‘Win This Way‘ which was written for the Zero Malaria Campaign.

Due to Covid-19, none of the musicians have met in real life, with the entire recording being done in isolation and tracks being sent back and forth. A triumph of technology and music, ‘Win This Way’ demonstrates the true power and community of music. I love how the musicians have grouped together to make some stunning music.

Collective Beats is a melting pot of world music, featuring Ngoma, Mbira, Ghatam (the earthen pot from South India), Morsing (the Jewish harp), Konnakol, Guitar, Bass, Piano and Electronica, together with unique voices from many Commonwealth countries. Led by Kevin Jenkins (Oxjam, ‘Make Poverty History’), ‘Win This Way’ features the lyrics of British-Namibian poet Christi Warner and Zimbabwean writer Edith WeUtonga. Collective Beats is also made up of Dr Ahir Utsav, James Chamanazi, Othnell Mangoma Moyo, Christophe Putters and Roshen Maduranga.

Collective Beats wins the day on the malaria-inspired ‘Win This Way‘ that features some top quality artists who have grouped together to make a well-needed song to spread the message of getting rid of this horrible disease.

Vicious Fishes bring their introspective indie bite to ‘That Girl’

That Girl‘ is the brand new indie-blue track from the exciting band with the awesome name called Vicious Fishes.

Taken off the self-tilted album ‘Vicious Fishes‘, the band are in full form here. This is an outfit who are at one with themselves and they play with such a smooth bluesy style that makes you relax. I love how the song breaks up in a 5 minute masterclass.

With the full moon high, you want her to be your girl. You lust for her and just want to be in her arms. The passion is there between you both and the lights are low, with candles in the room. Will this love story end the way you want it to or will you be apart forever?

Vicious Fishes impress highly on this fine new track that certainly cleans the airwaves with beautiful sounds on ‘That Girl‘.

Bomethius sings sweet melodies to share his wedding story on ‘Goodbye, Covid-19’

Goodbye, Covid-19 by Bomethius

Goodbye, Covid-19‘ is a beautiful story from the soft but striking vocals of the extremely talented Bomethius.

Bomethius is the alter-ego recording alias of Jonathan Hodges who is a Dallas based-musician. An accomplished violinist, Hodges started studying music at age 3. Addressing doubts, fears, and disappointments from his own personal experience, Hodges recorded the first two Bomethius albums alone in his bathroom and quickly developed a unique baroque pop sound informed by melancholy, and wit. This is an artist that loves to challenge himself and make striking, real music.

Goodbye, Covid-19‘ chronicles Jonathan’s experience with getting married in the midst of a pandemic. It’s not really something he would recommend, but despite the fact that, him and his wife were deprived of their original venue, the majority of their close friends, and some of their family too. They found it to be surprisingly beautiful and while the world appears to be a long way off from actually saying goodbye to this virus, the song is about how good it will feel whenever we do finally get to say goodbye to Covid-19, and hello to one another — in person.

With breezy vocals and a soft piano that adds such a relaxing energy to this fine song ‘Goodbye, Covid-19‘ from Bomethius. This is one of the better songs on 2020 from such a genuine musician who shows us how crazy life has been lately.

With her Dad J. David Praet, who produced this track that he wrote circa 1979, this is a family affair that has been created with such love.

You can hear the Nashville country music style in her voice and the LA-born singer Frances Praet beautifully takes us to a self-reflective place. With crisp vocals that make me smile. Her story of love coming and going is so calming and also makes you think of previous relationships.

Chris Lopez Band rock the house down with ‘Enemy Inside’

Chris Lopez Band fires in with a powerful self-reflective rock ballad for the ages on ‘Enemy Inside‘.

Chris Lopez has been a full-time working musician in the San Antonio music scene for over 10 years and is one of the most recognized artists around. Packed up with his awesome band, the quality of music is high on the agenda.

With an awesome start, the solos get the crowd going as the band get into gear. The vocals soon flow through the mic and I start swaying around. This is powerful rock music from the heart and all about trying to defeat the enemy within and not to be too hard on yourself. If you can find this peace then you are halfway there. You can’t ever be truly happy unless you can look at the mirror and smile. Life is too short for anything else.

Bluesy goodness with sunglasses on with Archie Baker’s ‘Holiday’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8&v=ToXoQOT731g

Archie Baker returns with another soulful gem with his latest visuals for ‘Holiday‘.

Archie Baker is a London-born, Sheffield-based alternative soul & blues musician. Having moved to Sheffield in 2016, Archie joined a popular soul and blues function band as a guitarist. Whilst playing weddings, summer balls and parties Archie found his niche as a vocalist and began to write his own music. With help from talented musicians around the scene, he developed a style of music suitable for his distinctive vocal style. This is a great story about an underdog who soon made his name and is now known throughout the music scene.

Archie’s music can be characterized by a strong blues and rock foundation with flourishes of funk and soul dusted throughout the sound – creating an eclectic and fresh flavor of modern soul & blues.

With a groovy start, this soon sets up to a the genre-ambiguous soul-fusion track with a thrilling afrobeat rhythm and a screaming jazzy sax solo that we were promised. Archie’s voice is so soulful and I love the mellow style that illuminates the video. This is some grown up music right here and would fit in perfectly in any country in the world that appreciates great music. The vibe is funky fresh and Archie’s band add so much to this fab track.

Archie Baker’s ‘Holiday‘ is the summer song we all needed as it is classy, gets you in the groove and shows us the huge talent of this fantastic artist based in Sheffield.

Digital Head morph the speakers into our brains on fantastic ‘To Whom it May Concern’

Electronica beats with a catchy flow is the name of the game here from the mysterious producer named Digital Head as he drops his latest album called ‘To Whom it May Concern‘.

Now living in Austin, Texas, Digital Head has used his platform wisely as an artist to contribute to indie creative projects, with his last album raising funds for charity donations. A fine deed indeed.

To Whom it May Concern‘ is the fantastic third album to come from the wildly wonderful experimental artist Digital Head. Viewing this album as the third installment of the trilogy, ‘To Whom it May Concern‘ progresses the personal story of Digital Head as well as considering the effects of the divisive politics currently at play in America, and in the world more widely.

Growing up playing piano and drums, Digital Head has always had a fierce passion for creating great music. Releasing his first single at the age of 15 as an indie artist, he has since gone on to release two albums.

The highlights of this powerful album are definitely ‘Without You‘, ‘Permission‘ and ‘I Surrender‘. The beat is hauntingly ominous and the vocals stunning. You feel like you are in a different world and floating in the sky like a skydiver who just cruises in the air. My body feels relaxed and I let the beat take me to a different world. The skills on the production are quite wonderful.

Digital Head’s ‘To Whom it May Concern‘ is a tech house/edm wonder-wall of beauty and thoughtfulness. This is music that needs to be in movies and this is cinematic dream. One of the best albums of 2020 in the dance category without doubt.

Florida’s Casandra Lark saunters on with fresh ‘Play It Cool’ Remix

Casandra Lark returns with her fresh style on her new ‘Play It Cool’ Remix that has just dropped into our laps.

The self-made singer-songwriter takes elements from R&B, funk, hip-hop and throws in electronic elements such as synths. This has helped her build a cross-genre audience that enjoy loving “all music genres”. Casandra loves keeping her entire project authentic by being involved in every step of the creative process. From composing the music, writing the lyrics, production to all visual elements, everything is done or overseen closely by her. This is one talented artist that uses her vision and creativity to be fully in control of her artistry.

I love the smooth beat here as it dances elegantly out of the speakers here. The beat just grows and grows on you as it attracts attention due to the deep house flow and electricity.

Casandra Lark’s ‘Play It Cool’ Remix is a succulent treat for our ears during these times of uncertainty in the world. The vocals are stunning and this is a singer that gets her audience. A fine remix that has me in a good mood, I am a new fan of this fine singer who plays things cool as ice.

Brooklyn’s Christopher Lovell sings to the stars on ”Twin Flame”

Christopher Lovell is a Brooklyn, New York native with a huge amount of drive and fight to make this music career work. He is back with ”Twin Flame” and the volume needs to be placed on full for this one.

Singer-songwriter Christopher Lovell grew up in Brooklyn, New York. His first dream was music. With a father who produced music wanting to be like his Dad become an obsession. This song is an underrated gem of note and I like the experienced R&B style here. He always keeps it classy and you can tell he is ready.

After just turning 30, you feel like this is the big moment. A maturing sound has allowed Christopher to peak on ”Twin Flame”. This is about wanting for things to change so you restore the galaxy and how you saw it formed. What’s meant to be, will be. This is the mantra and the core of the final income.
