Trap Meets Alt Rock in Hazy’s Melodically Entrancing Indie Hip Hop Track “Thousand Suns”

Usually, you need to choose between atmospheric mesmerism and melodic entrancement when it comes to Indie Hip Hop, but with up and coming artist Hazy’s latest release “Thousand Suns”, you’re treated to both in equal measure.

The Alt Hip Hop track sweeps across an emotional smorgasbord in Thousand Suns which starts as a slow meandering entry into the captivating hit which unravels through the perfect blend of Trap, Pop and Alt Rock. If you thought that Linkin Park’s contribution to Hip Hop was evocative, you may need to strap yourselves in for an emotional bruising. The sincerity stings and the lyrics are practically meta poetry.

Beni Mizrahi Releases Wonderfully Sophisticated Track ‘Soulversation’

Self taught, multi-instrumentalist Mizrahi is nothing less than a sonic dream weaver. Quite a bold statement but spend any amount of time in songs such as Soulversation and you are quickly transported to a place were velvet neo-soul vibes, dreamy post-folk and meandering, hazy progressive rock coalesce into the perfect balance of drifting psychedelia laced soundscapes and thoughtful, philosophical lyricism.

Soulversation is at once loose and yet wonderfully sophisticated, a balance that works so well because of the tasteful musical choices that Mizrahi makes. Even though there is a lot happening musically throughout the track, it is the perfect layering of these myriad musical textures, the fact that everything has room to feature and blossom but never steps on the other instruments toes, shows that his musical instinct is second to none.

Kidd Sweeney’s Hazy Lazy Rap Track ‘What Chu Buying’

Finding new places to take the now well-established hip-hop/rap package often seems like a pointless task. It has either all been done or you end up fusing too much outside influence to make it unrecognisable from the genre which spawned it. Kidd Sweeney is that rare artist who has managed to take the genre into new areas but still produce something with enough familiar touches so as not to alienate the genre’s base.

What Chu Buying is a hazy, lazy meander along one possible rap future blending the grooves and delivery that you might expect but doing it over a washed out, affected musical landscape. It subverts the listener’s expectations as it warps and weaves, wavers and wanes in turn; it plays with hypnotic trance vibes, minimalistic lo-fi, down tempo dance and futuristic soulfulness. All those who like the idea of dystopian rap form a queue right here.

Die Blonde release hazy new compelling single ‘L.A. and Nashville’

https://youtu.be/E9QIUWVb-lg

L.A. and Nashville are arguably two of the most important cities in the United States to the music industry.

Los Angeles is home to a kaleidoscopic music scene under the California sun, with a particular emphasis on rock music. Nashville is known for its country music scene and references to timeless Americana.

Die Blonde set out to combine these two musical philosophies and bridge the gaps between alternative rock and folk with their new compelling single, “L.A. and Nashville”. This song defies genre definitions and blurs the lines between the usual cliches, going for something edgy and refreshingly unpredictable.

The song immediately kicks off with some warm and bright acoustic guitar and an engaging stomping groove. The vocal harmonies are laden with beautiful reverb effects, going for a cool 60s feel – Think Mumford and Sons jamming with Tame Impala!

On “L.A. and Nashville”, Die Blonde set out to create a hazy and dreamy production aesthetic with psychedelic overtone. Their ability to create memorable melodies and poignant lyrics seamlessly blends in with their tasteful production value, making for a very organic and personal sound.

Nuvem Leopardo release psychedelic vibe track ‘Revolucao Interior’

Blending some West Coast psychedelic vibes through some solid and sleazy rhythm and blues, Leopardo is like a time machine that takes you back to the dark underbelly of the hippy dream. Whilst day-glow flower children were painting kaleidoscopic music across the 60’s sky, elsewhere in dark corners an alternative vision was being woven, acid laced and menacing and it is this that beats at the heart of Revolucao Interior.

Doorsian dystopian blues and hazy psychedelic grooves drive the song as the vocals drift half out of earshot, dreamlike and drifting. But this is less an exercise in retrospection more a journey through timeless reflection and exorcism as the music seems to tap into the primal heart of mankind and unleashes the dark urges that can be found lurking deep within music.
