Dustin Dale Gaspard delivers Cajun blues soul food in ‘Good Lookin’ George Burton’

Taken from his debut album, Hoping Heaven Got a Kitchen, Dustin Dale Gaspard’s single, Good Lookin’ George Burton, has all the swagger of bourbon-soaked blues combined with a delectable sense of soul that won’t fail to pull you into the essence of the single which pays homage to the US singer-songwriter’s grandparents’ legacy and his Cajun heritage.

If ever there was an aural equivalent to soul food, you’ll find it in the warm, crunchy overdriven electric guitar tones, the layering of Dustin Dale Gaspard’s vocals with the almost celestial pitches of the female backing vocals and the organ notes that shimmer against the zeal in the blues piano keys. There is no understating how viscerally stunning this release is. Dustin Dale Gaspard’s resounding talent and passion for his heritage and upholding the memories of the one’s that he loves, is beyond beautiful. In 2022, he’s a diamond in the superficial rough.

Good Lookin’ George Burton is now available to stream on SoundCloud. The debut album is due for official release on February 28th, 2022.

High school friends Ottoman Turks rolls the window down with ”Apathy”

Texas Blues Rock outfit Ottoman Turks are back with a road journey track of the highest order with ”Apathy” off State Fair Records.

This is a 4 piece, tell-your-neighbors and their cousins rock and roll family band from Dallas. They describe their music as outlaw country garage rock that certainly kicks the beer chugging into action. Drinking, dancing, rocking music is the main theme here with the American act. They guys have been a band since 2009 and after recording their first music in a bathroom. After a few changes the Granada Theater gig in Dallas during the summer of 2018 changed everything with label backing.

Inspired by legends Slow Moving Snakes, 40 Acre Mule, Pedigo’s Magic Pilsner, Vandoliers, this is a band that has so many fuses while they spiral it all together as they have some jazz in them too. I like how the band know what each other are going to do next.

Apathy” is a terrific track that keeps you interested throughout and the Texas band Ottoman Turks impress here.

”The Glory’s Mine” is a bluesy gem from Ben Railway Robey

A true singer-songwriter is born with a genuine soul, a smooth voice and lyrics that are gritty. Ben Railway Robey has such a great name and backs it up with a quality song here. ”The Glory’s Mine” is one of those road trip songs that needs to be played again and again.

With his attitude in a full steam ahead mood, Ben Railway Robey is on a mission to climb the music mountain and shows us his determination to do it his way. Tired of false promises, Ben flows in such a authentic way that the song feels like a campfire story. This is a singer-songwriter with inner grit and determination to make sure that every moment counts while performing his blend of music. I imagine Ben Railway Robey singing his heart out in a small, dusty and rum soaked bar. Loyal fans listening from all corners and enjoying every minute. This is the ultimate underdog and ”The Glory’s Mine” is statement of intent from this real talent.

8udDha bl0od – L3m0n 50Ul – 7h!5 L0<3ly F33ling: Soulfully Striking Alt Folk Rock

8udDha bl0od

L3m0n 50Ul – 7h!5 L0<3ly F33ling is just one of the upcoming releases from the enviably talented Brighton-based artist 8udDha bl0od. The Psych Alt Folk single pulls in a myriad of nuances, but from the first hit, it will feel like home.

If you could imagine a soundscape as evocatively compelling as Elliot Smith’s tender classics, as Stylistic as Kurt Vile’s approach to Blues, and as kaleidoscopically warm as a track from King Crimson, you’ll get a good idea of the ingenuity which spills from L3m0n 50Ul – 7h!5 L0<3ly F33ling.

Despite the sweet absolving layers of soul weaved into L3m0n 50Ul – 7h!5 L0<3ly F33ling it’s still an emotionally weighted single which will stick to your synapses long after the track has faded to a close.

You’ll be able to check out L3m0n 50Ul – 7h!5 L0<3ly F33ling for yourselves from July 27th via SoundCloud.
