Momo Aphrodite – Painful: Pacifyingly Polyphonic Pop

If you like your Pop to be searing, cacophonous and instilled with swathes of electronic effect; Momo Aphrodite’s 2018 single Painful is the perfect cocktail of swirling, thrashing EDM beats around the trickling of Trap harmonies. The Baltimore based artist has put her audio engineering skills to test with this mix. Whilst the feedback was a little too much from the synth in parts there’s no disputing that Momo Aphrodite’s latest track Painful is a polyphonic paradise of hauntingly captivating sounds. With the right production behind the track, I have no doubt that Momo Aphrodite could see a short ascension to the top of her game. Her soulfully urban approach to the vocals on the track round Painful off perfectly and makes the track anything but it’s chosen name.

If melancholic polyphonic Urban indie Pop is your bag you can check out Momo Aphrodite’s latest single Painful on SoundCloud now.

Momo Aphrodite’s debut EP will be released in June 2018, once you’ve checked out Painful, there’s no doubting that you’ll join me in the bittersweet anticipation for her sound which is influenced by artists such as Lady Gaga, Blondie, SZA & Beyoncé.
