Minx – Buy A Body: A Theatrically Urban Commentary of Misogyny

Given the history of female Rap artists, you’d think that they haven’t got all that much to say, which is why I was blown away to stumble across the enigma that is Minx. Her approach her music is nothing but notable, she uses her theatrical edge to create an urban commentary of misogyny and alludes to the disparity that women face in the 21st century. Usually, you’ll only find such sentimentality in the Riot Grrrl arena, yet with Minx’s latest track Buy a Body, she created a sensually urban, Jazz infused beat to lay her rhythmic bars upon which were ingeniously composed. With multiple mic drop moments riddled into Minx’s latest track which was released on March 9th, 2018, she proved that she’s not a force to be reckoned with, and I have no doubt she will leave her male counterparts shaking in their Nike Air Force.

Her sardonic approach forced me to declare an instant affinity for Minx and her feminist approach, that lets face it, for American’s living in Trump’s America her music isn’t just amiable, it’s essential. You can check out Minx’s sensational official music video to Buy a Body on YouTube now.
