Mac Murray – Civil War EP: Melodically Raw Jangle Pop

Every now and again an artist will pop up with a unique command over melody and anthemic ecstasy. The Kings of Leon, the 1975, and the Killers all smashed it and so did up and coming artist Mac Murray.

It was almost hard to believe that the “Civil War” EP was the first official release by the Indie Rock artist thanks to the seamless, radio-ready resonant sound. If you’re a fan of jangly guitar progressions which pop over tonnes of fuzzy reverb through infectiously catchy choruses then it’s safe to say that Mac Murray’s tracks would be a perfect addition to your playlists.

Each track contained on the Civil War EP is an Indie dance floor anthem. The Arctic Monkeys may have sold out with their sound but the Barrow-In-Furness, UK-based former-front man and solo artist has stuck true to the roots of the genre whilst adding his own unique raw and unrestrained charisma. Finding an Indie artist more lyrically and vocally expressively soulful would be like finding a needle in a haystack.
