I’ll be honest, I took one look at the track title and assumed I was in for a God awful rendition of mumble rap. When I hit play, I realised that was a pretty blasphemous prejudice.
Within Wassup there is everything you could possibly hope for and more from a Hip Hop Rap track. There’s a scorching summer vibe over the entire track which will make Wassup perfect for your summertime playlists. The beat carries plenty of emotion which is amplified by the vocals which are as sweet and charismatic as they come. Yet, what really sold the track for me was the use of acoustic and digital instruments in perfect synergy with each other to provide a rounded, euphorically hot beat.
If you’re on the look out for a romantically uplifting beat, you can check out Derlis’ latest single which dropped June 18th, 2018 on SoundCloud now. I would compare Derlis’ style to another contemporary artist on the scene, but in all honesty there isn’t anyone that can match the prodigally enigmatic son of Hip Hop.
