Aorta Project is an absorbing dark alt-electronica act led by Houston, Texas composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Steven Sheffield. He creatively meshes that reflective music, which has you thinking much deeper than before.

Powered by Fruity Sounds, NOTD & Catello ‘Nobody‘ (Doyle Remix) is a fine new single that will have you grooving and moving to the soundscapes, that remind you of a hot summer’s night while you are on holiday.
London and Sheffield-based UK dance producer Doyle, is a fresh-faced name in the local deep house world and he certainly makes a terrific impression here on this excellent single, that encapsulates real soul. He makes that kind of music that helps you relax after a long day at work and is also the perfect late night party slider to loosen up those rusty moves, shelved away after this seemingly endless lock-down.
With a busty beat that is a hug to the heart that has been battered recently, he puts a pleasurable layer of goodness for our ears on a song that was already absolutely quality. He has you dancing for joy in your bedroom with the song just catching fire as you catch your cat looking at you strangely from the other side of your window.
This is the relatable story of wanting to be with that person again so much, as no one else could quite love you as deeply as they could. Your hearts desire override all common sense as you miss their touch and that extra spark of electricity. The problem is that they treat your heart so recklessly and with that uncaring abandon, unless it suits them. You know they are wrong for you but you can’t get enough either and you are caught in the love matrix.
NOTD & Catello ‘Nobody‘ (Doyle Remix) is a fine deep house track that only gets better as the song vibrates through your body and you find yourself in a deep daydream of wonder throughout, as you miss a song like this live at your local club.
With more music of the way, Doyle is a name to watch as he brings his skills to the table for us to consume ourselves into all night long. This is the perfect late night escapade music that makes you forget your worries and just immerses yourself into this satisfying beat of beauty.

Sheffield’s charismatically abrasive instigators of volatile Psychedelic No Wave, FEMUR, amped up the intensity and visceral fortitude of their sound with their latest release ‘Misery Express’, allowing me to finally experience something more disquieted than my own mind during lockdown 2.0.
With psychedelic melodicism acting as the glue which keeps the savagely caustic tapestry together, Misery Express pairs a tundra of rampantly thrashed over-driven guitars with creeping tones which allow you to sit in anticipation for the next monumental breakdown. It’s heavy enough to give the Berzerker a run for their money, all the while exuding an Avant-Garde noisy edge which has become synonymous with FEMUR’s sound.
The lockdown-born track perfectly emulates the proclivity of misery; the full-frontal scathing volition and those moments between where you’re able to catch a breath, but your mind is still dizzied by rage.
AORTAPROJECT is the debut album from Aorta Project, the enchantingly psychotropic release takes electronically-crafted atmospheric ambience to another level in a way which will enamour fans of Deadmau5 and Jon Hopkins. Yet, discernibly, Aorta Project stamped down their transcendent signature sound with their debut – especially with their lead single, ‘’Perfect Form’, which was written and performed by Steven Sheffield & Allanah Maarten and mixed & mastered by Ashton Nagle.
Perfect Form allows you to indulge in over 7 minutes of evocatively progressive aural ingenuity which despite the polished production, still offers a direct intimacy which isn’t often heard in computer-generated music. It’s a track which will have you at the edge of your seat or rhythmically arrested on a dancefloor, wherever you are when it hits you, prepare to be overwhelmed by Aorta Project’s ability to command your rhythmic pulses. With the hauntingly sultry female vocals switching between whispers and mantra-like commands, expect the vocal notes to cut like glass.

Delectably dark, yet euphorically rousing, MASS HOUSE ARREST by Sheffield-based artist and producer Pete Jackson is the feel-good Dance drop we never knew we needed.
Listening to high-energy tracks may be a bitter-sweet experience now, given that nightclubs are inaccessible, but you can class MASS HOUSE ARREST as a refreshing exception.
Starting out with a steady minimalistic beat, the track gently eases you into the momentum, only after ensuring you’ve had a suitable hit of catharsis. Then, the track amasses scuzzy distortion as it gains traction and the sound of Pete Jackson’s crunching guitar tones start to coalesce. Mid-way through the extended mix, the Dark Pop vocals work their way in, any fans of And One, Apoptygma Berzerk and Covenant will definitely approve.
I genuinely don’t know where my sanity would be if it wasn’t for artists such as Pete Jackson who are solidifying the culture bubble which protects the real fans of art, music and culture.
