The Sign of Leo releases single The Global Fight

Netherlands-based band The Sign of Leo have dropped their latest piece ‘The Global Fight’, infusing that Indie Rock sound pulling sounds from the 70’s and 80’s Rock scene, to create this catchy piece.

Starting off with that powerful hum that ends abruptly, as the strings collide together on the electric guitar and the heavy tap on the drum begins to seep through. Whilst having that synthesized keyboard sound that gives it that 80’s sound.

Adding in the upbeat clash of the tambourine that plays in the distance, alongside the heavy riffs on the guitar as the instrumentals have their time to shine, going back and forth with the heavy sound to the more synthesized essence.

The vocals have that raucous tone to them, making sure that they’re loud and high-pitched so that they manage to power through the instrumentals, as the rhythm does tend to overtake the vocals in terms of pitch and pace. But everything comes together in an impressive way, it all flows and is in tune with one another. Always keeping the volume loud to give it that real Rock sound.

ETCHES: Strumming Their Way To The Top

The days of storytelling may be a lost art, lyricism, and genuine songwriting may be all but extinct these days; and while we sit and scratch our heads over today’s music we have to ponder of what or who exactly is up next? Enter Etches’ and their single “Human Façade,” a strumatic instrumental with very little instrumentation but a very strong bassline. A pivotal story of sexual exploitation and the effects of being viscerally reactive versus proactive.

It’s a good track, actually it’s a great track with a somewhat skeletal bass that slowly rises to a climatic progression. The lead singer is impassioned and embodies a sound of true artistry; couple that with the musical score they have managed to create – and this may be one of the best culminations of simplistic sounds and musical elements I’ve heard in a long time. Their sound is progressive rock, psychedelic harmonies, and electro/pop bass lines and to be honest they remind me of a modern day, Tears for Fears. Their sound is infectious and can’t wait to hear more of the musical ear-gasm that for now we know as Etches.

Ah Trees Releases New Wave Indie Rock Track “Do It All Wrong”

Hailing from Perth, Australia, Ah Trees set out to create an interesting blend of new wave and indie-pop, with psychedelic overtones. They learned lessons from their fellow Aussies, Tame Impala, but also from timeless acts such as INXS (another legendary band from the land down under), The Police or Tears For Fears.

Ah Trees set out to offer their own special twist on such influences, transposing the aesthetics of new wave music into the modern indie-rock format with excellent result. Do It All Wrong also features a collaboration with Moody Beach, bringing a distinctive twist to the track.

The track is the first single taken from their upcoming sophomore release! Find out more here
