Henry – You Don’t Need to Know: Smoothly Sentimental RnB Soul

https://soundcloud.com/henrymbata/you-dont-need-to-know

You Don’t Need to Know” is the smooth new soulful jam from up and coming Dublin RnB artist Henry. Elements of the past and the future accessibly combine in the soothingly sentimental soundscape.

The tempo may be low, but the level of evocative appeal is off the charts in the stylistic and slick mix which perfectly accommodates Henry’s soft and sensuously harmonious RnB Pop vocals.

Ireland may not be known for its massive RnB scene, but that may be set to change now that Henry is dropping his accordantly soul-soothing hits on the airwaves. He’s irrefutably one to watch. Up and coming RnB artists who can truly revive the genre and make it ooze contemporary appeal are worth their weight in aural gold.

Chay CEO – Take You Down: Seductively Soulful RnB

If up and coming RnB Soul artist Chay CEO has evaded your radar, we’ve got the perfect track to introduce you to her seductively alluring style.

Take You Down” is just one of the singles on the artist’s 2019 5-track EP “Therapy Session”. Each track tackles a different emotion which romantic relationships can invoke. Take You Down efficaciously captures the lust which can manifest as relationships are blossoming. If there’s any contemporary RnB single with the power to put you in the mood, it’s Take You Down.

Perceptibly, Chay CEO found the perfect balance of amorous romanticism and sexually-empowered attitude which makes it all too easy to get hooked into the soulful mix.

In the wake of George Floyd’s Death, RnB Soul artist Brent Williams asks the devastating question of “What If It Was Me” in their latest single

https://music.apple.com/ca/album/what-if-it-was-me/1522186448?i=1522186449

RnB Soul artist Brent Williams’ latest single “What If It Was Me” asks a sobering question which has been on the minds of black people for generations. Not just after George Floyd’s murder.

While I’ve heard innumerable justified aggressive attacks on systematic racial oppression lately, Brent Williams took a more soulful approach to point out the devastating reality for every black person living in fear.

Hopefully, their release can help the narrowminded realise the utter absurdity in racial prejudice. On the flip side, I can only imagine how many people fighting the same battle as Brent Williams will find invaluable resonance in this single. It may be a downtempo ambient RnB hit, but that doesn’t prevent What If It Was Me from hitting excruciatingly hard.

You can check out What If It Was Me which dropped on July 10th by heading over to Apple Music.

SLSTRSS has released her fiercely empowering Neo-Soul single “Better”

Up and coming Neo-Soul artist SLSTRSS dropped the music video for her seminal single Better on July 4th. Prepare to be galvanized.

We’re all feeling a little caged and frustrated at the state of the world right now, SLSTRSS latest single offers you an inspirationally powerful different outlook. Refusing to deal with the world as it is doesn’t have to mean resigning in apathy, as SLSTRSS poignantly alludes, we can simply start to be better.

Despite the smooth soulful production, Better is definitely one of the most hard-hitting tracks I’ve heard this year. If you’re looking for an empowering aural pick me up, look no further.

Donnell Isaac injected plenty of soul into the airwaves with their latest single “I Didn’t Know”

https://soundcloud.com/donnellisaac/i-didnt-know/s-GhIKMGONtfz

Donnell Isaac went right back to the roots of Soul with his modern, stylish Jazz-infused revival track “I Didn’t Know”. The sense of nostalgia is strong, but the contemporary production of the captivatingly groove-filled soul soother makes Donnell Isaac’s sound anything but archaic.

Only after hearing Donnell Isaac’s single did it occur to me how two dimensional so many RnB tracks are. There’s a smorgasbord of emotion in I Didn’t Know, and none of them will fail to resonate. The unfiltered passion, the lovelorn torment, the shimmering optimism, all hit equally as hard, but the warm easy tones will comfort the blow.

RnB Soul Trailblazer Arijjazmine Has Dropped an Amorous Earworm on the Airwaves with “Apply the Pressure”

https://soundcloud.com/jazmine-barnhill/apply-the-pressure-arijjazmine

From the first verse in up and coming RnB Soul artist Arijjazmine’s latest single “Apply the Pressure”, the magnetic draw of her naturally inviting vocals pulls you into the smooth and amorous production which runs at an almost teasing pace.

With every progression, you’re eager to experience the next succinct evolution in the downtempo soundscape which almost shimmers with the warm and vibrant tones. Discernibly, Arijjazmine didn’t hold back when penning the lyrics to Apply the Pressure, there’s a rare depth to the lyricism which tackles the age-old frustration of wanting to know where you stand.

Not every artist succeeds in creating sentimental and sincere love songs, but perceptibly, Arijjazmine isn’t your average newcomer.

John MF Ward has made their debut with the smoothly sensuous RnB hit “Make It Right” featuring Exzac Change

With melodies made for melting into, sensuous crooning and strikingly contemporary lyricism, it’s safe to say that John MF Ward has made an ever-lasting impression on the airwaves with their single Make It Right.

There may be one or two elements of old school Soul. But the up and coming artist was able to lay his soul on the line while painting a stark portrait of 21st-century dating without over-romanticising it.

To add to the dynamism of Make It Right, John MF Ward borrowed the magnetic vocal prowess from Rap artist Exzac Change who lay down cutting bars over his smooth amorous harmonics. The collaborative chemistry is as potent as it comes with Make It Right.

We certainly don’t come across tracks as captivating as Make it Right every day. Or as authentic. We’d strongly suggest putting John MF Ward on your radar.

Trevor Quest has dropped their sultry dancefloor hit “Shake It” prod. Cratez

Up and coming RnB artist Trevor Quest dropped their sensually soulful EP “Mix Emotions” on June 28th. While each of the Hip Hop-infused hits provides a potent hit of salaciousness, the best introduction to the authentic artist’s contemporary style is “Shake It”.

With renowned producer Cratez in charge of polishing the mix, it was never going to fall flat. Instead, the light and intricate beats ooze earworm potential, there’s no reason why Shake It couldn’t become a charting summer RnB hit. It’s the perfect anthem for hedonistic summer nights.

Hourigan has released their optimism-invoking Indie RnB Folk Single “Fly Your Kite”

The word ‘arrestive’ may get thrown around a lot in reviews, but in the case of Hourigan’s Indie RnB Folk single “Fly Your Kite”, it’s more than justified.

The unfiltered soul which Hourigan projected into the Indie RnB mix has a way of crawling under your ribs as you drink in the organic accordant ecstasy in the sublimely serene soundscape.

If you could imagine what it would sound like if Jack Johnson, Hozier and Cosmo Sheldrake all collaborated on a single, you’d get an idea of how mesmerizingly transcendent Fly Your Kite is.

Lyrically, Fly Your Kite is a poignant message to the younger generations facing overwhelming levels of uncertainty. It’s a gentle optimism-invoking invitation to keep on going and to see past the crushing illusion society attempts to sell us.

jackson r.a. – Little Love: Intricately Layered Experimental RnB

Columbus up and coming RnB artist jackson r.a. has recently dropped their standout single “Little Love”. Any fans of modernistic RnB Pop are going to want to hear it.

Little Love is a soulful feat of electronically mastered experimentalism which isn’t afraid to take RnB down bold new aural avenues. The raw undiluted emotion is fed into an intricately layered soundscape. But thanks to the instrumental hooks and the artist’s magnetic vibe, it’s all too easy to get hooked into the tonally diverse hit which demands repeat attention.
