For his latest release, the up and coming London-based artist Doyle put his uplifting touch on the iconic track, Arms Around Me by Starley. By all accounts, Arms Around Me was the perfect summer dance-pop anthem before the remix, under Doyle’s melodic manipulation, the track started to emanate quintessential indie-pop vibes, making the lyrics even more intimate and the vocals infinitely more endearing.

With his debut album expected to drop in 2022, you should leave ample space on your radar for the bedroom artist and producer.

Pop singer-songwriter and producer Jenna Jay searches for Someone Real in her debut single

Las Vegas-based pop singer-songwriter and producer Jenna Jay is set to make her debut on August 27th with the release of her contemporary electro-pop hit, Someone Real, which candidly yearns for exactly that.

Someone Real follows the artist’s journey after escaping a toxic relationship and struggling to find someone who can offer a genuine connection. In a time when words are so manipulated they practically lose meaning, the single puts a spotlight on the pitfalls people are constantly forced into through other people’s lack of transparency.

You will find few pop tracks as mindful and raw as Someone Real; hitting play is cheaper than therapy; save a spot on your radar for upcoming releases.

Check out Jenna Jay on Spotify, YouTube and Instagram.

Dave De Vita has released his panoramic pop hit, Control

Swiss-Italian singer-songwriter and producer Dave De Vita has given the airwaves a break from archetypal pop with the release of his feistily melodic folk-pop-rock track, Control.

With the same panoramic production style as the likes of Mumford and Sons and the Lumineers, the high-octane hit is instantly accessible without ever feeling assimilative. The emotion in the soundscape is cranked up just as much as the guitars when the infectiously euphoric chorus hits. Adding Control to your playlists is a sure-fire way to make them more eclectic.

Control is now available to stream on Spotify.

Christopher Ambrose has released his Pride pop anthem, ‘To Feel Love’

NYC pop singer-songwriter Christopher Ambrose has been creating and producing for almost a decade; he’s produced tracks for the drag icon Honey Davenport (Ru Paul’s Drag Race, S.11), Robert Garcia, Jayce Vegas, and plenty more high-profile names. If you’re not previously acquainted with his energetically emboldening sound, his 2021 pride pop anthem, To Feel Love, is the perfect introduction.

If you could imagine Carly Rae Jepson, Years and Years and Ru Paul all aurally rolled into one, you will get an idea of the sticky-sweet luxurious feel that To Feel Love effortlessly exudes. The noisy synths cut across tropic pop beats to create the perfect platform for Christopher Ambrose’s upliftingly light vocals that inspire self-love and authenticity in times of uncertainty.

To Feel Love is now available to stream via Spotify.

Classically trained artist and producer Iona Maclennan has released her cinematic debut single, ‘I Walk Alone Tonight’.

‘I Walk Alone Tonight’ is the confessional debut single from the classically trained UK singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Iona Maclennan. With the orchestral strings pulling across the minimalist ballad, the instrumental score parallels the evocative magnetism of Iona Maclennan’s artful, spiritual in part, vocals.

After spending almost a lifetime trying to make sense of the world and the confusing dynamics within it, studying the sounds of Bastille, Finneas, and Jacob Collier, and taking lyrical influence from Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi and Taylor Swift, it comes as little surprise that the self-produced single carries enough emotion to leave your heart in your throat as you succumb to the power of the melodies and the lyrical poetry.

However she follows on from her debut, we’re stoked to hear it.

The lyric video to I Walk Alone Tonight is now available to stream via YouTube.

Edenhill has taken indie pop to anthemic new heights with ‘Reliever’

Edenhill

Elements of anthemic EDM pop and indie jangle-pop coalesce in the sophomore release, ‘Reliever’ from up and coming London-residing artist, Edenhill, who may be one of the only artists with the ability to unite club kids and indie kids through one release.

Sonically angular guitars bite against danceable beats and experimental synth lines which almost bring a touch of psychedelia into the radio-ready soundscape which bleeds mainstream pop potential. While the instrumentals bring the authenticity, Edenhills vocals bring the accessibility and ensured that Reliever became one of the most infectious perennial pop earworms we’ve heard recently.

Reliever is due for official release on January 8th, you’ll be able to check it out via SoundCloud.

RONA MAIRI – Sliding Away: When alt-pop becomes art-pop

music.youtube.com/watch?v=3huqg8WH2_A&list=RDAMVM3huqg8WH2_A

If you hit play on any alt-pop debut this year, make it RONA MAIRI’s stormer of a single ‘Sliding Away’ and test your capacity to feel.

Sliding Away may not be the most polished single that you’ve heard this year, but it is all the better for it. The piercingly resounding alt-pop single transcends directness and delivers unapologetically confrontational soul. Maybe not the sticky-sweet and superficial soul that is prevalent in the pop charts, but you’re in for an evocative experience all the same as the tremulous electronic track plays havoc with your rhythmic pulses.

The Scottish singer-songwriter’s original aural passion fell into the lap of grunge, but as exhibited in Sliding Away, her contemporary inspiration comes from game-changing producers such as Lorn, Clams Casino and Shlohmo. After hearing Sliding Away, it would come as no surprise if RONA MAIRI started to share the very same acclaim as the luminary producers who compelled her to share her distinctive vision with the world.

You can check out Sliding Away for yourselves by heading over to YouTube.
