Mic Hamm sends an invitation to feel with their forthcoming evocatively deep release ‘Pain’

Mic Hamm

Written in response to deep personal tragedy, Mic Hamm’s ‘Pain’ is an intimate, emotionally deep Hip Hop track, all fast flow vocal, rolling piano part, and thumping programmed 808 drum beats. It’s a classy single, dealing with loss, heartbreak, the breakup of a relationship, death, and disappointment, all the while musically well-constructed, overlapping rapped vocals sitting atop soft mellow piano and trappy beats.

Hamm’s sing-song lyrical style and confessional poetic vocal carry the track, the underlying beats and keyboards adding depth and grace and sophistication. ‘Pain’ might have come from a dark, low place, but there’s clearly much, much better things on the horizon for Mic Hamm.

You’ll have to wait a little bit longer before you can check out Pain for yourselves. In the meantime, head over to SoundCloud and check out the artist’s former releases.

RnB Hip Hop artist Jay Towers has transcribed his soul with ‘Love Note’

Jay Towers dropped their most soulful single to date with the release of their fusion Indie, Hip Hop, RnB and Pop, ‘Love Note’. The vocal melody may just be the second most infectious thing to have come into fruition in 2020.

Romanticism without crass perversion in a Hip Hop track may be harder to find than a needle in a haystack, but Jay Towers was able to deliver the dominance of Hip Hop along with affable hints of affable soul in Love Note. Any fans of Post Malone will definitely want to pay attention the sun-kissed, melodically captivating hit which was officially released on November 27th.

Lexically blessed left-field Long Island Rapper AllOne has released their latest single ‘Anodyne as Oblivion’

Lexically blessed left-field Long Island-based Rapper and slam poet, AllOne, dropped their latest feat of conscious Hip Hop, Anodyne as Oblivion on November 6th.

The fast-paced feverishly ardent release puts emotion at the heart of the production using the lyrics to conjure meta imagery while the atmospherically complex and quiescent instrumentals amp up the evocative intensity even further.

With jazzy old school Hip Hop elements melding with hints of New Wave Trap, AllOne discernibly succeeded in creating a fresh but indulgently accessible-from-the-first-hit sound. The mix of sniping visceral lyricism and mellifluous vignette melodies allowed pure Hip Hop alchemy to ooze from Anodyne as Oblivion.

Catfish has dropped their mindfully melodic feat of New Wave Hip Hop ‘No Magic’

Toronto-based artist and producer, Catfish, may only be 19-years-old, but they’re already exuding maturity and nuance within their uniquely beguilingly soulful signature Hip Hop sound. It is artists such as Catfish that leave me assured that the future of music is in safe hands.

While I appreciate aggression is a form of catharsis and protest in Hip Hop, the abrasive attitude can quickly scour away at the sentiment and message in the music, but there’s no danger of that with No Magic. It’s pure soul, a vibration you’re going to want to indulge in time and time again.

It comes as no surprise that Catfish is quickly rising up from the underground with their magnetically mindful lyrics, melodically relentless flows and accordantly transfixing beats. Get him on your radar.

The title-track is the perfect introduction to Bennett’s sentimental songwriting approach and talent when it comes to pulling together a light yet immersive soundscapes which will hook you in from the first verse.

US-based Rap artist Iceboypierre’s latest drop “Watch Yo Step” (Ugly God Remix) is a Polyphonic Trap masterpiece.

With the Old-School analogue-style beats there’s a fair amount of nostalgia weaved into the mix amplifying the accessibility. Yet the retro rhythms are outshined by Iceboypierre’s contemporary approach to Hip Hop which makes Watch Yo Step drip with plenty of distinctive commercial potential.
