Jon Harris

NY rapper and producer, Jon Harris is rich in lyrical gold after his latest hip hop release, Great

NY rapper, songwriter and producer Jon Harris tore up the rulebook in his latest old-school-meets-nu-skool single, Great. After a cinematic intro that will speak to the senses of any Tarantino fan, the single moves into more familiar hip hop territory through Harris’ down-to-earth versing style, inspired by the visionaries, Eminem, Kanye and Jay Z, while the instrumentals work melodic magic in the background.

With bells chiming in place of the usual 808s and plenty more ingenuity written into the rhythmic works, Great is an arresting feat of urban innovation. And that’s before we get to the cutting wit that puts all of the wannabe rappers in their place with solid lines that get stronger with every repeat hit of Great. Which is everything it says on the tin.

Every lyric is quote-worthy, but “I’m the bad guy for trying to speak up, constantly telling me to shut up and stick to music, well, guess what bitch, now you gotta listen to it”, may just cut slightly above the rest.

The lyric video for Great premiered on October 22nd. Catch it on YouTube.

Missing You: New York rapper Jon Harris wonders if she feels the same on ‘Think of Me’ (Lyric Video)

With a frustrated demeanor as he wishes that things could of been vastly different, Jon Harris thinks back to the memory of when they were together with some regret on ‘Think of Me’ (Lyric Video).

Jon Harris is an underground New York City-based hip-hop artist, college graduate and music producer. He makes that true life experience sound about the dream of finding that true human connection, goals he has set for himself and about finding that true love.

Influenced heavily by elite hip-hop legends such as Eminem, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Tupac, B.I.G and J Cole, this is a young artist on a mission to show the world his poetically stimulating lyrics, and to separate himself from the rest of the hungry pack.

He raps with so much vigor and gritty energy — which has you feeling his shred like a grater slicing through cheese — as he brings us that real flow, during a song that has so much honesty and is clearly a personal track.

Think of Me’ (Lyric Video) from New York-based producer-hip-hop artist Jon Harris, has you thinking about that moment when you miss them so much and need to express it instantly. He has a way of gripping your attention like tight hands on a steering wheel — and takes us for a reflective ride — with no happy ending.

Rapper Jon Harris releases his single I don’t wanna hear it

Jon Harris releases ‘I don’t want to hear it’, a rather explicit and honest piece of music from the Rapper.

It’s safe to say that Jon is not afraid to say what he wants to as that is clear within this track, emphasising his point of the fact that so many people talk rubbish and he just doesn’t want to hear it.

It’s straight to the point and it’s such an intriguing piece to listen too. The vocals are smooth and stay at this fairly low-pitch tone, it’s a lot more slow compared to other Rap songs, but this is why it’s easier to listen too as you can hear each word Jon has to say clearly.

Jon Harris is the one to make honest music, talking about what he wants in a style he enjoys and that’s exactly why this track stands out.
