Off the heels of their successful 2020 Hip Hop debut, Zenith777 followed-up with a lyrically transfixing feat of Ambient Jazz-laden Hip Hop with the single “Carpe Diem”.

Lockdown may not have been the time to seize the day, but now that it’s coming to an end, Carpe Diem drops resolving reminders to pick your passion back up, dodge the drama and brush off the apathy. 2020 may be messed up. But that’s no reason to put optimism and motivation to one side.

With the contemporary Indie vibe behind Carpe Diem, it’s all too easy to sink into the soundscape and drink in the lyrical wisdom which Zenith777 soulfully offers.

Finding Hip Hop artists who you can easily connect with is often harder than finding a needle in a haystack. After you hit play on Carpe Diem, you’ll see that’s just one of the reasons to put Zenith777 on your radar.

JoeTheRapper flexes their grounding lyrical ingenuity and experimental Hip Hop style in their 2020 EP “NOVAD II”

If you love discovering authentic breaking Hip Hop artists as much as we do, prepare to be awe-struck by JoeTheRapper’s 2020 EP “NOVAD II”.

The 5 tracks may differ in tempo and tone, but they all offer striking emotion which spills from JoeTheRapper’s connectable soulful Bars which consistently lay down witty relatable introspection over the jazzy warm beats.

All of the tracks instilled visceral emotion. But no track hit harder than TOXIC. We all know toxic and abusive relationships exist, but so infrequently do they become the subject of tracks – of any genre.

I’ll never forget the resounding impact of TOXIC and JoeTheRapper’s attack on Toxic behaviour which gets to the heart of the issue without losing empathy. It left me the affirmation that if JoeTheRapper steps to the mic, he’ll always have something to say that’s worth hearing.

Dozy Boi – Reality: Absorbingly Exotic Jazz-Soaked Chill Hop

UK-based Up and coming Hip Hop artist and producer Dozy Boi has recently dropped their sublimely cathartic Chill Hop album “Here”, you might want to prepare your Lo-Fi Chill Hop playlists right about now.

While each single carries an arsenal of ambience, the best introduction to Dozy Boi’s tension-stripping approach to production is the standout single “Reality”.

The only interruption to the soft mellifluous Jazz-soaked beats is a vocal sample which implores you to question your perception of reality. Ordinarily, that would drive me into an existential crisis, but thanks to the absorbingly exotic textures found in Reality, it’s all too easy to succumb to the smooth and comforting vibes.

You can check out Reality along with the rest of Dozy Boi’s debut album which dropped in May 2020 for yourselves by heading over to Spotify now.

Rooftop J – We Going Up: Magnetically Connectable Smooth Hip Hop

Inspirational Hip Hop never gets old. As long as apathy still lingers in our society, we’ll need artists such as Rooftop J to grace the airwaves with high-vibe tracks such as “We Going Up”.

With the steady downtempo beats, a sprinkling of Jazz tones and the atmospheric depth of We Going Up, you’ll easily find the groove in the mix and be pulled along as you hang off Rooftop J’s every word. Their Rap bars parallel the mellifluous feel of the beats in the track which is bound to be of interest to fans of Mac Miller, Kanye, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

Ever since Rooftop J made their debut in 2018, they haven’t been short of acclaim, and it’s more than easy to see why. Their magnetically connectable vibe is inimitable.

Erol Sabadosh has dropped their smoothest Hip Hop Earworm Yet with “Staring at the Sun”

For their latest tension-stripping feat of Jazz-layered downtempo Hip Hop “Staring at the Sun”, Erol Sabadosh teamed up with Ron Wayne to create an unforgettably cathartic playlist staple.

Through steady beats, soothing blasts of sax and the magnetically immersive Rap verses which will take you right back to the time when the Fresh Prince was king, listening to Staring at the Sun isn’t something that can be done half-heartedly.

If it weren’t for the deep grooves and lashings of Funk, Staring at the Sun would fall on the more ambient side of Hip Hop, but there’s plenty of energy to leave you feeling adrenalized from the moment you hit play.

You can check out the official lyric video to Staring at the Sun which dropped on May 9th for yourselves via YouTube.

Bobby Royale – Bare Knuckle Dance Move: Fiery-Fresh Exotically Danceable Hip Hop

Bobby Royale has dropped their most grooving, energetically blazing Hip Hop track to date with “Bare Knuckle Dance Move”.  You’ll be hooked from the first entrancing notes in the Funk-soaked feat of exotically rhythmic Alt Hip Hop.

Bobby Royale’s bars effortlessly match the visceral super-charged energy which you’ll find in the instrumentals courtesy of the sun-soaked blasts of Sax around the inventively ingenious Hip Hop beats.

The up and coming artist certainly didn’t hold back on the experimentalism in Bare Knuckle Dance Move, but there’s absolutely no compromise to the accessibility. I’ve not been as excited by the beats in a Hip Hop track since I discovered That Handsome Devil. It has every potential to become a viral track.

Benjamin Elia$ – LO SIENTO: Mindfully Euphoric Jazz-Soaked Alt Hip Hop

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOYek8VfK4s

Up and coming Alt Hip Hop artist Benjamin Elia$ dropped his mindfully euphoric latest single “LO SIENTO” on March 18th 2020. The release has already garnered plenty of acclaim, with the vibrancy, soul, and experimentalism which the organically fresh track contains, there’s little room to wonder why.

With an infusion of Jazz amongst other elements of World music and Alt Rock, LO SIENTO is a versatile mix. Yet, the real distinction lies in the sincerity of the animatedly magnetic delivery of the vocals.

After hearing LO SIENTO, I’m fairly convinced that there isn’t a vibe check in the wold which Benjamin Elia$ couldn’t pass. He’s exactly the kind of artist we all need to be making more time for right now.

Don C – Living Alright featuring $togie Bryant

Living Alright is the oceanically hazy second single to be released from up and coming Hip Hop artist Don C which follows on from his debut single Life. He may have dropped the tempo in his second single, but the amount of soul and energy remains as a constant between the two releases.

Only after hearing the fresh new take on old school Hip Hop, did I realise how few humbly reflective Rap tracks are on the airwaves. The gratified introspective which is laid down in Living Alright is essential on the airwaves right now.

As the Rap bars run through the resonant lyrics, the Jazz-soaked warm, smooth beats create an ambient flow to give Living Alright a sunny cathartic feel. By bringing $togie Bryant in on the mix, Don C created a well-rounded mix which fans of contemporary Hip Hop and Old School alike will appreciate.

Sed’Trieaun’s Latest Track “L.S” is a Refreshing Break Away from the Monotony of Monocultural Hip Hop

Sed’Trieaun

Up and coming Hip Hop artists who offer accessibility and experimentalism in the same infectiously fresh mix aren’t discovered every day. Which is why we should be boundlessly grateful for the latest single “L.S.” from Sed’Trieaun.

Sed’Trieaun teamed up with J-Link to create a high-energy Jazz-infused track which will undoubtedly appeal to artists such as Jay Z, Drake, Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar.

Similarities aside, the multicultural drop breaks away from the monotony of Western Hip Hop and allows Sed’Trieaun to offer a distinctive hook-filled viscerally vibrant track. The sound of Sed’Trieaun stamping down their signature style is perceptible in every progression in L.S. It’s a rare release which will unite fans of Old School and Contemporary Hip Hop alike.
