Orange Dream got Jazzy with their latest Indie drop ‘Twisted’, which is exactly what it says on the tin. The solid feat of psychotropic Electronic Indie also doctors in a nuanced Trip Hop edge to give the multifaceted hit yet another mind-melting texture to solidify the ingenuity.

As Josie Rose Molasky’s vocals find the perfect balance between harmony and attitude, the energetic yet carefully contorted Hip Hop beats make sure you stay hooked in the melody right from the intro while lush synths give you plenty of atmospheric reverb to sink into. If you feel like getting nostalgic about your hedonistic days, Twisted will happily send you a postcard.

Twisted may be an independent release, but it is hard-hitting enough to leave a serious mark on the airwaves. The LA duo is undoubtedly one to watch.

AHEARTTHING offers reflectively cathartic Alt Ambience with ‘Open Road Floetry’

AHEARTTHING’s latest Alt-Indie Electronica single ‘Open Road Floetry’ is already well on its way to becoming viral after its release on October 30th, with the aural comfort which drips from the warm nostalgia-borrowing tones, it’s easy to see why.

It feels like the artist captured the mood of the globe with this reflectively cathartic feat of Ambience.

The electronic mix incorporates elements of Hip Hop, RnB and Neo-Soul while AHEARTTHING’s vocals add a playfully beguiling sense of consolation and compassion as he reaches out to everyone else who feels as though they’re simply existing.

MASSIVESAD – Re: Builds: A Melancholically Mesmeric Playlist Essential

It’s been a while since a new track literally gave me goosebumps. Yet, the chill crept across me before the first verse hit in MASSIVESAD’s melancholically mesmeric Alt-Indie single “Re: Builds”.

The Floridian artist and songwriter found the perfect balance of smoky, sludgy atmospherics and striking soul in Re: Builds’. The track starts as a melodic and almost Neo-Classic Electronica score before the soundscape gains momentum and starts to offer electrifyingly static aural turbulence. The evolution in the track perfectly captures the feeling of losing control after starting out with poise, grace and good intent.

You can waste your time attempting to pigeonhole each beguiling component in Re: Builds. Or you can simply let the alchemy unfold in this truly pioneering single which doesn’t ostentatiously throw aural futurism in your face. Instead, there’s a real sense that MASSIVESAD through themselves completely into the candid and evocatively transfixing release. And in the process, they created one of the aptest tracks for our dystopic and dark times.

Electronica artist and producer soundslikeLANG has made their 2020 debut with the chill-inducingly stunning single “Hold Tight”.

The past few months have been a bumpy ride for us all, Hold Tight offers a smooth tranquillity to sink into and soak up the stylistic soul which is authentic and sincere enough to fill your own. You practically owe it to yourself to hit play.

After you’re suitably entranced by the deftly reverb-laden instrumentals, the echoed vocals are fed into the indulgently accordant mix to feed us the mantra “Hold Tight” along with timely sparse drippings of vocal optimism.

HARBOUR – All You Can Be: Cinematically Captivating Electronica

Las Vegas artist and producer HARBOUR has proven with their former releases that they know how to cook up a cinematically evocative electronic storm. With their new album “Mend”, they offered the ultimate testament to their talents when it comes to creating powerfully atmospheric music.

Each single was poignantly orchestrated to hit hard and tackle a different facet of what it means to be human. The perfect introduction to HARBOUR’s captivating sound is “All You Can Be”.

For anyone that’s feeling a little lost right now, All You Can Be offers as much guidance as it does resonance. The sentimental soul of the single is amplified by the colossal yet succinct and deftly crafted build-ups. It’s so much more than a soundscape which simply speaks to you. It mirrors the fluctuation of emotions which course through you as you battle against your own mental storms which tempt you to put aside ambition, hope and optimism.

Ben Alexander – Sons: Entrancingly Melodic Electronic Gospel Pop

If there’s any Electronica artist we’re happy to see a new release from, it’s Bergen, Norway-based artist and producer Ben Alexander.

There was definitely no forgetting them after hearing their single Seek which was full of soulfully stylistic ambient euphoria. With their most recent release Sons, the tones may slightly be harsher, colder, and it may be fleetingly comparable to the likes of Covenant, the Editors and John Grant, yet, Ben Alexander has allowed the soundscape to retain the same magnetic mesmerism.

Their electronically-crafted single is an entrancingly adrenalizing infusion of Pop, downtempo Hip Hop, and Gospel, and it’s safe to say, you’ve never immersed yourselves in a soundscape quite like Sons before.

BL Bex – There’s the Way: A Hypnotic Infusion of Psych, Soul, Electronic Art Pop and Blues

Up and coming duo BL Bex’s latest single “There’s the Way” is utterly hypnotic. With elements of Art Pop, Psych Rock, Neo-Soul and Alt Blues Folk weaved into the indulgently immersive single it may not fit into any aural pigeon holes, but you’ll definitely find a home for the soundscape on your playlists.

Lexie Green’s smoothly accordant, sensually quiescent Americana Blues vocals rise above the beats deftly orchestrated by producer Ben Cozens which offer beguilingly distinctive ambient layers to get lost within. For extra added alchemy, BL Bex enlisted the virtuosic prowess of guitarist Chris Hooks.

It’s not all too often we can so assuredly say that you’ve never heard anything quite like this before. If you regularly find yourself on the hunt for truly authentic artists, look no further.

Norwegian Alt Electronica Ben Alexander has released their celestially compelling single “Seek”

There was no forgetting Ben Alexander’s absorbing approach to production after hearing their artfully ambient electronica single Daybreak. Naturally, upon the release of their latest single Seek we were all too eager to delve into their experimentally bold, indulgently cathartic ingenuity once more.

This time, Ben Alexander used ethereally choral vocals which gave Seek a gospel feel, but even the impious will be able to appreciate this celestially stylistic single. There are also nuances of Indie weaved into the mix which amplify the accessibility and makes Seek all too easy to sink into.

It may be early days for the Norwegian artist, composer, and producer. Yet, their ability to orchestrate soundscapes which are simultaneously haunting and soulfully resolving indicates that Ben Alexander won’t be up and coming for too much longer. For your sanity’s sake, get them on your radar.

Bow ‘N’ Arrow – Heavy Snow in Colorado: Atmospherically Entrancing Alt Indie Pop

Heavy Snow in Colorado is just one of the entrancingly atmospheric singles to feature on singer, songwriter and producer Bow ‘N’ Arrow’s second EP (H.2/4).

Darkwave, Indie Jangle Pop, and EDM Pop all intoxicatingly converge in the powerfully soulful stylistic soundscape. The haunting melodies possess the rare propensity to crawl under your ribs as the arrestive layers of reverb ensure that you’re well and truly locked into the romantically moody Alt Indie Pop earworm.

There isn’t an ounce of assimilation in Heavy Snow in Colorado. If you could imagine what it would sound like if Calvin Harris embraced his shadow side and started producing darkly immersive tracks, you’ll get an idea of what is in store when you hit play.

The Slacksons – PLASTIC BAGS FOR SHOES: Archetype-Smashing Indie Electronica

The Slacksons have moved away from the usual aural archetypes with their latest EP “PLASTIC BAGS FOR SHOES”. If you think that the EP title is a little eccentric, just wait to hear what each of the attention piquing, mind-altering soundscapes have to offer.

Even though distinctive and truly innovative music is a hard sell in 2020, I have no doubt that The Slacksons will go far with their sublime mix of Trip Hop, Disco, Funk, Indie, and Psych.

With each track offering a discernibly different vibe and sound, the EP stands as a testament to the diversity of this exceptionally exciting up and coming UK-based artist. As difficult as it was to pick a standout favourite track, there’s just something engrossingly appealing about the ominously slicing organ wails and crunching Hard Rock riffs being instilled into the feel-good track “WAKE UP“.
