Emily Silver raises the temperature in her dance-pop track, ‘Feel the Flames’

Independent London-based singer-songwriter Emily Silver’s latest future pop track, Feel the Flames, is enough to make Lady Gaga sound tame. The single that was co-written and produced by the Brit Award winner, Simon Ellis (Britney, Spice Girls, S Club 7), is the epitome of filthy pop.

The bass-drenched-drops motif the track with electrifying energy which Silver easily matches with her fiercely resounding vocal timbre. Emily Silver has already performed in the Royal Albert Hall and the 02 Arena, but with her vocals, there isn’t a stage she couldn’t command. There’s a magnetic amount of hunger in Feel the Flames that grips you with sharp melodic teeth and refuses to let go.

infparsa took electronic pop to evocative new heights with ‘823’, featuring Pooyan jc.

For his latest release, electronica songwriter, engineer, artist and producer infparsa teamed up with vocalist Pooyan jc to create what is easily one of the most evocative electronica releases of the year. The vibrato on the vocals is enough to make a grown man cry.

The 20-year-old Iranian artist started to hone in on his talents at the age of 15 when he first started creating beats. Aged 17, he established himself as a talented producer before his move to Moscow, Russia. Currently, infparsa resides in Kazan, where he is continuing to work on his upcoming projects. If the releases that follow 823 are just as compelling, it is only a matter of time until he breaks into the mainstream.

The indie, intimate vibes to the single pull at the heartstrings with visceral force. It scarcely matters that English unilingual minds won’t be able to decipher the lyrics; plenty of the emotion lies in the dance-pop melodies and the compassionately romantic vocal notes.

Jeffrey Chan has released his seductive dance-pop track, ‘Call My Name’

The commercial potential that we first saw when Jeffrey Chan released his debut album in 2018 is steadily coming into fruition, with multiple of his singles racking up over 100,000 streams on Spotify alone, he’s well on the way to the top, especially following on from the release of his seductive dance-pop track, Call My Name.

The tropic beats tease the euphoria of fiery hedonistic nights while Jeffrey Chan laces the up-vibe dance track that utilises choppy staccato guitars around ascending synth notes with low reverberant vocal sex appeal. Jeffrey Chan could easily teach Boy George a thing or two in terms of vocal seduction.

Penelope Pettigrew has unleashed her autobiographical bisexual dance-pop anthem, ‘Straight Until…’

Sydney-based singer-songwriter Penelope Pettigrew has released her autobiographical bisexual anthem, ‘Straight Until…’ the hazily entrancing feat of dance-pop allows the listener to explore their own identity in the presence of a voice that disrupts normative discourse and embraces queer culture.

Through seductively bold lyrics and bass-drenched synths, Penelope Pettigrew’s queer pop track carries some reminiscence to the likes of Peaches, yet, discernibly, there’s far more commercial potential to this radio-ready single. We can’t wait to see the rest of the world waking up to Pettigrew’s nuanced empowering style. Whatever subject she chooses for her lyricism, you know that she will delve deeper than most.

TAYLOR ESPOSITO breaks though with her hyperpop debut single ‘KISS ME LIKE IT’S NOT OVER’.

Shaking off her small-town-girl status, TAYLOR ESPOSITO is here with her impassioned hyperpop earworm, ‘KISS ME LIKE IT’S NOT OVER’. In the same vein as anthemic tracks by Rihanna, Ariana Grande and Cardi B, the single resounds with fervent energy but you would be hard-pressed to find any singles by the aforementioned artists with a bassline that slaps as hard.

The debut is an unapologetically archetypal pop track but with the formula perfected under TAYLOR ESPOSITO’s meticulous approach to production and her fierce attitude colliding with the bass-riding beats. There’s no denying that KISS ME LIKE IT’S NOT OVER doesn’t leave you adrenalized and insatiable to hear what ESPOSITO has in the pipeline.

If her music wasn’t exciting enough, the artist and influencer has made it safe to see pop stars as role models again.

Throw away your saviour complex with Justine Eltakchi’s hyperpop single, ‘Demons’.

If you find that the average perennial pop earworm lacks bite, get acquainted with the teeth in the flawless futurepop earworm, ‘Demons’, by Justine Eltakchi.

After a productive 2020, which saw the singer-songwriter releasing two EPs and six singles, 2021 shows a different side of Justine Eltakchi. Her latest single brings forth a darker, more experimental hyperpop sound that isn’t afraid to lyrically rip right through to the core of suffering as the instrumentals echo the mental instability before the final crescendo that illustrates that breakthrough when the black cloud finally shifts.

Demons is a single that compels the listener to put themselves first and throw away the saviour complex. Considering that there is a fair amount of women out there lusting over serial killers with the belief that they can ‘fix’ them, Demons is an essential track.

Oh No! – Royals’ Dylan De Bono is ‘Feeling S**t Right Now’

‘Maltese singer-songwriter’ isn’t a phrase you get to use all that often as a music reviewer, but when it comes to Dylan De Bono it’s one that we can fully expect to become much more common in 2021 and beyond. As one half of pop duo Royals, Dylan’s no stranger to musical acclaim, but with this – the first single from forthcoming solo album ‘Loose Wire’ – De Bono brings us an absolute belter of an electro-pop banger.

Dark yet humorous, edgy and sexy, with one eye on that perfect pop mix of accessibility and catchiness whilst avoiding cliché or ‘throw-away-ness’ (is that a thing?) and the other on an absolutely spot on understanding of dancefloor groove and pop-radio immediacy (aided, no doubt, by the writing and production collaboration with maestro David Vella), ‘Feeling S**t Right Now’ is a superb melting pot of clubby dance stunner and autobiographical songwriting, a mix of 70’s disco, 80’s club classic, and totally up-to-date electro-pop killer. Prince and Bowie mix with the Pet Shop Boys, Years & Years, and David Guetta here, to produce what may be one of the first ‘spot-on’ pop songs of 2021. The sound of the summertime might have just landed.

The urban dance-pop track comes with polished production, but there is still enough room for the intimate indie vibes to breathe through the short and sweet mix that finds the perfect balance of energy. Make U Happy delivers plenty of affectionate passion. Yet, Haley Warner delivers the lyrics with a touch of realist reservation, accentuating the organic feel of the stylish release. Make U Happy is the kind of authentic pop that the airwaves has been crying out for. It is the antithesis of plastic pop music.

Faith Louise has released her empowering EDM pop anthem, ‘Boss’

While finding fragments of inner strength is harder than usual, Essex-based singer-songwriter Faith Louise is making up for the shortfall with her upbeat KPop-inspired tracks that pay ode to 90s pop and bring the blazing beats of club anthems.

‘Boss’ is the latest single to be released by the 15-year old performer who could easily teach women twice her age a thing or two about empowerment. The high-vibe track provides hard-hitting bass-riding beats, as the vocals bring a touch of RnB hip hop into the verses, easily paralleling the instrumental energy.

Aricka J addresses toxic immaturity in her latest pop track, ‘Man Up’

Boston-born pop singer-songwriter Aricka J pushed the feminist movement forward with her latest release, ‘Man Up’, which addresses the toxic immaturity that every woman, at some point, has probably endured in their lives.

Whether you want to vent about a man reaching out with entitlement and expecting you to save them or a partner dragging you down with them in a relationship, Man Up is an empowering track that reminds the listener that there is no virtue in tolerance, and you have full permission to walk away from what no longer serves you. The upbeat pop track, which is accented by afrobeat elements, is powerful enough to put toxic relationships to bed; for good.
