Brother and sister acoustic rock duo Closer Than Strangers return with the soulfully deep indie-folk single ‘When I Say Go’. Taken off their last album called ‘Broken Things’, this is beautifully described story of trying to help someone close when they are in need of a kind face.

With Charlotte performing her wonderful skills on cello and Greg displaying his quality vocals matched with an exciting guitar style, these tow form a formidable team that make such sweet music together.

Their music plans of 2020 were dashed of course due to this horrid pandemic but the family duo have huge goals to record a new album, and tour as much as possible in 2021.

The acoustic melody starts right away as the beautiful sounds emerge from the bed of the story. That feeling when you aren’t sure if you are dreaming or awake is so vivid as you snap back to reality from The Matrix. She is right next to you, broken and cold from running in the night. You want to help but humans will only really listen if they really want to.

His voice is so honest and is such a splendid storyteller. This is the tale of how a small town can break you down and make you feel lost. You want to follow and when they are happy in a new town, you will join them and perhaps you can be together.

Their partnership is unbreakable as Closer Than Strangers bring us an absolute gem on ‘When I Say Go’. Sometimes you need to get out of where you are to fully grow and blossom into what you want to be in life. Having a kind soul there too does help but so does finding your own path, and learning who you really are inside.

Stripped back, hearing the vocal as they’re without all the added in effects, giving the listeners that real live atmosphere. The vocals are insane, the way it’s sung is done so effortlessly, it’s just the way the voice comes out and instantly flows in such a mesmerising way, having that adenoidal style to the tone. It’s sung at such a low-pitched slow pace, adding in so much variety to the way the voice sounds.

The instrumentation is pretty simple, using the catchy essence of the clasp on the electric guitar riffs to give it that little bit of edginess. Hearing just how well the vocals and the guitar intertwine together is so intriguing to listen too.

A&R Factory Present: Chasing Moonlight

Ten years ago a band like Chasing Moonlight couldn’t have existed. The alternative pop/rock duo encapsulates everything about making music in the age of self-producing & genre mashing. Working day & night, they built up their own studios—becoming producers, engineers & designers on their own. Using infinite colors from their creative palette, they have carved out their own genre—optimistic fuzz—an anthemic pop rock sound with hints of hip-hop & dubstep. From drums lines, crowd screams, distorted synths & passionate vocals—their sound is as if a piano has fallen down a technicolor staircase, leaving it off-kilter yet a bit more human.

The band is a meeting of two universes—Zeke Hunter & Brett Steinberg, both award winning artists who’ve been featured on radio, such as The Howard Stern Show, KISS 95.7 (iHeart Radio), Sirius XM, Hot 103.9 “Freshly Squeezed” & 104.1 WMRQ, & featured on national publications, such as PureVolume, Popdust & HYPEFRESH. Their differences paradoxically complement each other & their music reflects their essence, yet of a side they’ve never seen before. Hunter & Steinberg have always been attracted to collaboration with one another starting with the first time they met 10 years ago—immediately starting a project with a massive debut in Brooklyn the following week.

As artists who have delved into many different music, film & stage projects, they have a hunger to create lasting, boundary-pushing art. The only compass they use to guide them through new sonic territory is the pursuit of creating unique sounds with emotional resonance. Their music tells a deeply personal story that has the tenderness to get you through the darkest nights, but the drive to cut through the noise of our generation—can you hear it?
