Drill meets RnB and Trap in up and coming Hip Hop artist, SBE’s debut self-titled album which dropped in January 2021 and introduced the world to the artist’s experimentally authentic style which defies tradition and embraces individualistic expression.

Each single delivers high-energy and even higher vibes, but the perfect introduction to SBE’s domineeringly electric approach to contemporary Hip Hop is undoubtedly ‘SBU’ which fuses Trap beats with grinding soft rap bars which make it all too easy to get hooked into the track which manages to be adrenalizing without being over facing.

Cultures collide in Gullypabs and Trizzac’s Drill track ‘Zone 2 in Spain’

‘Zone 2 in Spain’ is the chill-inducingly dominant Drill track by South East London artist, Gullypabs, and Spanish Drill trailblazer, Trizzac. Despite its very recent release, it’s well on its way to going viral.

There’s ferocity behind each venom-laced syllable as collaborative chemistry effervesces between the dual Rap bars. To create the perfect platform as cultures collide in this gritty yet sun-soaked hit which runs through with blissfully escapism-aiding exoticism, the melodic beats are minimalistic but serve to create a grippingly intense atmosphere which will hook you in from the first scathingly charismatic verse.

If the grind in this heated hit doesn’t you adrenalized, you can assume that you’re a little dead inside.

B.A. Talks – Ysl: A Grimey Take on the High-Life

‘Ysl’ is the second release to drop from trailblazing Rap artist B.A. Talks, with elements of Grime in the EDM Hip Hop production, the beats are just as domineering as B.A. Talks’ feverishly multilingual vocals.

Not only is the monocultural mould shattered with Ysl, but the artist also melds a myriad of stylic elements from across the urban aural spectrum to ensure that nothing about it feels assimilative. From Drill to Grime to Trap, it’s all there in a stylistic rhythmic storm. Additionally, you’d be hard-pressed to find an artist projecting just as much passion into their music. He’s definitely one to watch.

Drill beats meet 420 vibes in Garvin Boateng’s standout track Haze

Amsterdam-born, Leeds, UK-based Ghanaian Rap legend Garvin Boateng teamed up with KFF to drop their dynamic Drill track “Haze”. 420 Hip Hop has never been grittier.

Raw nihilistic energy runs through Haze, but Garvin Boateng’s convictive ensnaring Rap bars which wrap their way around the beauty of weed-aided escapism dominate the track. Haze won’t fail to leave you adrenalized and enamoured in equal measure.

With most Hip Hop tracks, there’s a sense that the artists are forcing a persona, but with lyrics like “I’m not superman I cannot save ya…”, it’s obvious that you get an undiluted hit of Garvin Boateng’s natural charisma with Haze.

Zeggé and Reemo cook up convictive chemistry in their latest Drill Rap track “Connect”

Very few artists manage to capture our attention, excitement and adoration as unrelentingly as the Drill Hop Hop duo Zeggé & Reemo.

Their latest release “Connect”, which is due for release on Friday 23rd October affirms that the faith they instilled in us with their previous release “Bang” was appropriately positioned.

With Zeggé hailing from the North (of London) and Reemo from the East, they’re set to take over the length and breadth of London and go far beyond with their atmospherically ensnaring approach to dark Hip Hop.

After hearing the trepidation-infusing beats laid out by the 808-god Ghosty, Reemo penned a lyrical attack which perfectly complements the nihilistically-textured instrumentals which will be a hit with any fans of Dave, AJ Tracey, Headie One, Skepta, J Hus, Novelist, Ghetts, Wretch 32, Stormzy, Chip, Drake and Travis Scott.

Everything about Connect feels contemporary. It’s so fresh, it’s raw. The dynamically metered bars ensnare you from the first verse, from there on out, you’re utterly transfixed by the convictive chemistry which breaths between Zeggé and Reemo.

Before lockdown, Zeggé and Reemo were able to premiere Connect live at GBNGA. We have no doubt that they’d be tearing their way up from the underground and gracing major stages if live music was still happening. Considering that they achieved over 20k plays with their debut single Bang, Connect will undoubtedly make the scene erupt.
