Copenhagen

Stelios Kyriakidis created a passport to ‘Copenhagen’ in his seminal ambient classical guitar composition.

Stelios Kyriakidis staked his claim as one of the most evocative neo-classical guitar composers of his generation upon the unveiling of his debut album, 508 Days. The opening single, Copenhagen, pays a fitting ode to the titular destination; each note, a breath taken at the profoundly inspiring scenery, a moment stolen within the rich culture, a step taken through the enriching streets.

The serenity within the instrumental soundscape constructed by the London-based Greek guitarist and composer echoes his influence of neoclassical, folk and film music elements. If the soundtrack to the film Her made an ever-lasting impression on you, expect the very same affecting experience from Stelios’ intimately composed score which undoubtedly resounds as well in a live performance as it does on record. The connection he feels to the guitar in hand is comforting throughout, echoing his own familiar and fond acquaintance with the instrument he uses to make highly visual mirages from melodies.

Prior to the release of 508 days, Stelios Kyriakidis performed in prestigious venues globally and has been featured by BBC Radio London, The Music Dances When You Sleep, and the Minor7th. Since releasing Copenhagen, the single entered the iTunes Classical Charts at no.34. We can’t wait to see where he takes his sound next.

By My Side: SELEMBA feels those deep sensations on Black Magic Magnetism

Produced, mixed and mastered by Ahmad Jamal Zareini, SELEMBA fuses in elements of RnB, hip hop and soul on the mesmerizing new single called Black Magic Magnetism.

SELEMBA is a Copenhagen-based Ugandan-danish indie hip hop artist who grew up performing as a choir-leader at his local church.

Though SELEMBA got his bachelors degree in musicology in 2016 he founded the award-winning restaurant UGood to make ends meet. This took most of his time away from music for a while but as determined as they come he would sit up late at night writing and producing his music after work unable and unwilling to ignore the call of his creativity. Today his restaurant is a stable source of income that gives SELEMBA the opportunity to make music full time. Before he started his restaurant, SELEMBA toured all parts of Denmark with his former band SLYCK.” ~ SELEMBA

Meet the Tom Waits of this Generation in Vince Chinaski’s Debut Album, Never Painted Black.

Vince Chinaski

Copenhagen’s most prodigal up and coming singer-songwriter, Vince Chinaski, has released his debut album, Never Painted Black, which opens on the title single and instantly arrests you in the Avant-Garde neo-classically inclined feat of psych, jazz and folk.

Without any hint of hyperbole, Vince Chinaski deserves to be just as revered as Tom Waits for the way he pulls new sonic intrigue from a timeless sound. With Louis Armstrong reminiscences in the cinematic jazzy score that flows at a teasingly mellow pace that leaves you desperately eager for the next note, Never Painted Black is beyond absorbing.

Its mind-meltingly artful gravitas becomes even more visceral towards the outro as the Chinaski’s crooning timbre starts turning dark and scuzzy vintage rock guitars feed kaleidoscopic discord into the release.

Chinaski’s debut album will be available to stream on all major platforms from November 26th, 2021.

April And The Drift is a spellbinding singer-songwriter with a life long dedication to elevating her majestic music skill set and the results are gift wrapped with delicious jazzy blues reggae treats. The songwriter who was born and raised in Copenhagen is so honest and showcases her voice splendidly here. Teaming up with multi-talented lead guitarist and pianist Fidel Carmona, the duo primarily go the organic route. They utilize natural instruments that slide straight through your sensitive soul.

With a horror theme park sound to begin this masterpiece- this marks the year that is 2020. Unfortunately garbage leadership is holding back the world right now and the stench is quite horrifying. Luckily April And The Drift send through a jazzy-reggae and soul-pleasing song to make us all happy inside our weary brains.

Dream Pop Meets Neo-Soul in DaveJavu’s Blissfully Transcendent Debut Single “Summer Sun”

https://soundcloud.com/davejavumusic/summer-sun/s-lbAgZ

Dream Pop meets Neo-Soul in up and coming artist DaveJavu’s debut single Summer Sun. The sun-kissed oceanic single oozes authenticity and good vibes in equal measure. Not only do you get a taste of the Copenhagen-based artist’s creative ingenuity, but you also get to immerse yourself in hypnotically transcendent waves of gentle euphoria.

The track was inspired by the feelings of happiness when something goes right in the world. Even if you haven’t felt that way in a while, Summer Sun invites you to feel those very same warm fuzzy feelings.

Expect a Mike Patton level of aural invention from Summer Sun. I never thought I’d see the day where I’d get to say that about the debut single from an up and coming artist. Naturally, we’re all too stoked to hear that Summer Sun is just the first track to drop from DaveJavu’s upcoming album Beach Groove Odyssey.

You can check out Summer Sun for yourselves from June 19th via SoundCloud.
