Am I Safe: Elluna wants to get out from behind her walls on ‘Trapped’

As she looks around nervously to see if she is safe to come out, Elluna worries about making another mistake on her hauntingly beautiful new single called ‘Trapped‘.

Elluna is a space-loving indie singer-songwriter, who was legally born in Arizona but feels like she is from nebula, supernova or star dust. She makes that galaxy-spinning music that is different to the rest – as she regards herself as an alien – and not from this crazy earth.

She sings with such a smoothly created style, her intentions are only pure and believes that she is the one to blame, when she actually isn’t at all. With a player-mentality overly rampant and social media comparing us to ourselves to make us feel distant when it should be the opposite, she flips your mindset into a deeply introspective one.

Trapped‘ from Arizona-based indie singer-songwriter Elluna, has you looking for the key to help her escape, as you feel her pain and wish that she could climb out of the walls she has built around herself. Love can be harsh and make you feel fearful if you have been hurt before, as you take a deep breath so you can try again and unshackle yourself from your own mind.

As they hurdle bravely through all the obstacles that has threatened to drag them down into the dirty mud, Bitter Therapy shows us the way to the lights of freedom within on ‘Happy Now‘.

Bitter Therapy is a sunny Mesa, Arizona-based two-piece indie pop/rock act. After both Brady Daniels and Matthew Gibson both dealt with troubling health issues and needed a creative outlet to recover swiftly — these two friends have turned the agony into feeling totally ecstatic — with spellbinding results that both of them couldn’t of imagined to be fathomable before.

”Instead of interpreting the changing times alone, they decided to focus their desire to write stories as a duo. Stories that tell of life’s hardships and the strength it takes to carry on amongst the bitterness that can completely take hold of one’s very being.” – Bitter Therapy

Iced Up: Arizona’s WyLyn wants to be back inside from the freezing ‘Cold’ of lost love

https://soundcloud.com/derek-roes/cold/s-qzCnlEgpjPU

As the lonely phone rings and rings in the candle-lit background with no answer imminent, WyLyn knows that he is out in the ‘Cold‘ as they decided to leave, with no intention of coming back.

Derek Roes aka WyLyn is a San Tan Valley, Arizona-based model, indie pop singer-songwriter and producer, who smoothly filters in music creations from the heart, that are all about love and how to be compatible together in this often-selfish world.

His sings with such passionate rhythm, with the sweet melodies catching your heart closely and with such love. Each word is meaningful as he longs for the return of his former lover, so they can be snugly in each others arms again.

The romantic atmosphere here leads you into the warm room which they shared when things were ideal like in a movie, before the storm came and they rode out without even properly saying goodbye. Sometimes the world is so harsh and things don’t make sense.

Cold‘ from Arizona’s WyLyn, is a sad story about missing someone so much, as you think about their memory and how simple things were. Sometimes life gives you the chills – so you can take time to warm up inside before loving deeply with heat again – when the stars align up perfectly again.

A classic to end things off: ‘310 to Yuma’ from underground Arizona poet/emcee Orie Adams digs deep inside the current unacceptable social injustices in the USA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZVWDtc6JOc&feature=youtu.be

Moving onto bigger and better things is the best way to fully evolve and not become pigeon-holed into one specific thing. ‘310 to Yuma‘ by underground Arizona poet/emcee/businessman Orie Adams is a core part of his last album and it’s called ‘V6‘.

With an ode to the late great Malcom X on the album cover, you can feel already that this isn’t any ordinary release, this is full of heart and realness, unlike a lot of the fake bubblegum rap these days that sticks to the bottom of your shoes and annoys. This is a true wordsmith who takes his time to get his message across and is in no hurry at all.

Directed by JDFilms at the Carter in Scottsdale, Arizona, we witness a man who guides us through the relatable story of having heart, resilience and hard work cut into your body and mind to succeed in life. He is certainly strapped up and ready to do whatever is necessary in order to protect those who he cares deeply for. These are Walking Dead times in 2020 and you need to be prepared otherwise you will be found out when the time comes to make a move.

With a few NFL player shout outs, talk of feeling understandably anxious due to having a price on his head and a tone that let’s you know that he is ready for whatever comes down; the lyrical skills here are haunting and cut deep into your soul. The current climate in the USA is reflected into the fabric of the song and you get a sense of what is really going in inside, not what the mostly puppet-pulled tv stations are hollering on about.

You get the feeling that this is a self-motivated man who has already decided what he is going to do next and it’s going to be big. If this is indeed the last time we hear from Orie Adams behind the mic, ‘V6‘ and ‘310 to Yuma‘ will surely live on in the annuals of underground Hip Hop history and a movie or two will be made about his journey. He stands up for what he believes in and whether you like his music or not, the message demands to be admired and the poetically lyrical wordsmith’s music will live on to be timeless.

Cass & Crossland – Adeline: Absorbingly Sweet Indie Folk Rock

Phoenix Arizona’s Indie Folk Rock duo Cass & Crossland made their 2020 debut with the absorbingly idyllic single ‘Adeline’. Their timeless approach to songwriting will remind you of the iconic greats while affirming that they’re the contemporaries that the airwaves have been calling out for.

The stunning harmonies find perfect balance with the transfixingly accordant semi-orchestral instrumental arrangement which simultaneously feels minimalistic and resounding. It’s the kind of track you hit play on, and you can’t quite tell if you’re consuming the track or if it is consuming you. The immersive ethereal air to the soundscape perfectly complements the romantically vivid imagery which the lyricism conjures.

With their ability to not only draw affectionate emotion from you as you listen to the track but also leave you endeared by the soul which the track contains, they’re undoubtedly ones to watch. Get them on your radar.

L.A. BAND CAFÉ SOCIETY FLY IN STRONG WITH ‘DAYLIGHT STORM’

Café Society stride in with their catchy sax and drum-infused new release “Daylight Storm”.

Café Society, originally formed in Phoenix, Arizona as the power-punk trio The Convertibles in late 1981 by Chicago born and raised musician, singer and songwriter Richard Morris, the original lineup featured Morris on guitar and vocals, Burton Korer on bass and Monique Bera on drums. Inspired by local Phoenix bands The Jetzons and Meat Puppets, they played about a dozen live gigs and recorded a seven-song demo at Camelback Studios in 1982.

After raising five children and retiring from a 26-year teaching career, Morris re-formed the band in the Netherlands in 2019 with Russian bassist Andrey Zakharov and Paraguayan drummer Christian Palmieri, reviving the original 80s-esque style of Café Society and releasing the band’s first single, “Daylight Storm”.

The new band—re-formed and rejuvenated—has a vibe that is alight, musicianship of a high standard and energy that is peaceful; especially refreshing in a year with so much turmoil, this is a fantastic listen that is both healing and hopeful.

Daylight Storm” takes us on a musical journey through a dark and gloomy storm whose cheerful and upbeat energy reveals a silver lining and sunshine beyond the tempest. Simply put, a wonderful experience and a top track.
