Elizabeth II – All My Failures: Someone Tell Hayley Williams There is a New Pop Punk Supreme

With reminiscences of My Chemical Romance’s theatrically explosive antagonism, it almost beggars belief that Elizabeth II didn’t hit the same heights with her seminal single, All My Failures. Searing riffs? Check. Hooky choruses? Check. Avant-Garde ingenuity spliced with instantly infectious personality? Check.

The multi-award-winning artist allowed the single to ensue with a wobbly lo-fi prelude before bursting into a blister of frenetic rock with Jeckyl and Hyde vibes through the dizzying bounce from pop vocal lines to hell hath no mercy screams.

The Washington DC-born, Nashville-based artist’s boisterous infusion of punk, pop, and rock which has never tasted another artist’s flavour has seen her performing at the city’s most infamous venues, opening for William DuVall and playing for Slash since she emerged on the scene in 2017. It’s only a matter of time before she’s a rock legend in her own right.

All My Failures is available to stream on Spotify.

Tennessee-based indie-pop artist Kate Cosentino hopes her daughter never hears this song on, ‘Did I?’

Made with that rare care and love that you hardly see these days via her upcoming EP ‘Note To Self‘, Kate Cosentino is at her honest best with a song that shows us right inside her mind that knows she needs to live more on, ‘Did I?‘.

Influenced by powerhouse women like Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, Phoebe Bridgers, St. Vincent, and many more, Cosentino has found that the best voices are authentic ones.” ~ Kate Cosentino

Gracing us with a honey-like vocal effort and featuring stories that many men and women can certainly relate to, Kate Cosentino is one of those artists who gets you thinking deeper than most and shows us behind the curtain in her own unique way of intrigue.

Did I?‘ from Nashville, Tennessee-based indie-pop singer-songwriter Kate Cosentino is a lovely single that takes you inside the thoughtful consciousness of a hugely talented creative who senses that she needs to be smarter with some decisions. Her sweet vocals are kind and warm, as we are taken on a wonderful journey of hoping that her daughter somehow skips this track.

With a calming aura and an introspective nature, this is a fabulous song that should entertain those who love something a bit different in life. Her quirky nature is rather warming you see, in a world where there is way too much uncertain coldness.

Post-Punk Meets Nashville Rock and Roll in The Rhythm Bullies’ Latest Snarling Triumph, Smoke Rings

The Rhythm Bullies

Just when I thought I was getting to the aurally jaded stage of being unable to drop my jaw at new sonic amalgamations, The Rhythm Bullies came along with their discordant cocktail of 80s post-punk & Nashville rock and roll in their latest single ‘Smoke Rings’.

The bluesy psychobilly-Esque heat meeting the chillier post-punk tones under the Gothically drawled vocals and blisters of surf rock proved to be a viscerally alchemic combination. That’s before you factor in the hedonistic nihilist lyrics, such as “the world is burning baby, so grab a cigarette”. Smoke Rings finds a generously subversive way of saying the world is burning, whether we want to see it or not, so you may as well get accustomed to the noxious air.

With riffed-out solos that make the Black Keys and Bauhaus simultaneously sound pedestrian, The Rhythm Bullies have an immense amount of snarling potential. We can’t wait see what they do with it.

You can check them out via Facebook, their official website and Instagram.

Dissecting the moment when she decided that the time was right to move on from her former flaky lover, Livia McKee navigates us into this sadly-familiar story when you didn’t want to get let down again on ‘LOST IT(feat. SIGHTLINES).

Livia McKee is a Nashville, Tennessee-based indie singer-songwriter who makes that pure and smooth music that lights up your day when your frown was kinda grey.

Expresses the meaning of love and life from her perspective as growing up as a military dependent moving around the globe constantly.” ~ Livia McKee

Silent Disco brought the future of rock to Tennessee with their debut indie-pop-rock about a girl single, Rocks

Pop-punk collided with alt-indie in the debut synth-scored euphoric hit, Rocks, by the up-and-coming powerhouse Silent Disco, which may be the sweetest about a girl single we’ve ever heard. The stellar slice of alt-rock affirms that we’ve moved past the Girl All the Bad Guys Want tropes by celebrating the magic and mystique of spiritual girls.

It’s as hooky as any of Fall Out Boy’s iconic releases, but Rocks does far more than just teasing a little early 00s emo nostalgia; it is also well and truly ahead of the curve of artists clamouring over themselves to do the 1975 better than the 1975. It may not be the average sound that spills out of Nashville, but Silent Disco is definitively bringing the future of rock to Tennessee.

Rocks will officially release on April 1st, 2022. You can check it out for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.

Dreamy Modernism entwines with country roots in Kimberly Atwood’s latest single, ABY (Anything But You)

Kimberly Atwood

Kimberly Atwood brought a touch of dreamy modernism to her country roots in the effortlessly arrestive single, ABY (Anything But You), which explores our innate human inability to forget the people that became the centre of our gravity before leaving us listless and directionless.

There’s no void quite like it, and that’s exactly what Kimberly Atwood poignantly articulates in ABY through the lyrics, “I’ve never had a problem forgetting anything but you”.  Atwood’s fearlessness when it comes to vulnerability and humility is simply stunning to witness. Notably, Nashville has a new icon in the making in its midst. If you pride yourself on keeping your finger on the alt-country pulse, make room on your radar.

With an honest atmosphere that takes you into a whole new world of imagination, Teddy at Night turns up the volume and has our speakers shaking with sensual energy that will certainly spark up your attention.

Stole Your Lover‘ from East Nashville, Tennessee-based indie alternative solo artist Teddy at Night is a sumptuous single made by a fast-rising artist who keeps it cool and casual throughout this bedroom-busting single. This is the story about taking someone away who probably wasn’t yours – but wasn’t really theirs either – so the emotions aren’t really fussed about the potential drama that could change everything.

This is the kind of song for anyone who has felt slightly bad for a romantic situation that unfolded unexpectedly into your lap, just like you have just drawn a royal flush without even trying.
