The Moontown Project remind us how sweet intemperance can be with their latest single ‘Moon Honey’ featuring Archie Weir

‘Romantic’ encounters may have been reduced to awkward interactions on Tinder during lockdown, but the Moontown Project is here, with their latest 70s disco-inspired single, ‘Moon Honey’ to remind us how sweet intemperance can be.

With their highly-anticipated single, created in collaboration with Archie Weir, The Leeds & London-based indie electronica duo paint vivid amorous imagery by sweeping right across the tonal palette. Moon Honey shows how serious the Moontown Project are about bringing colour to our increasingly monochromatic planet.

If you’ve ever hit an indie disco dancefloor, you’ll know exactly which scenario Moon Honey depicts; that moment when you barely want to think about your life beyond strobe lights, music and strangers who tempt you into hedonism. The deep funky guitar chops and grooves combined with shimmering synths create the perfect platform for the mischievously soulful vocals to float on in the enlivening radio-ready single.

The Moontown Project take inspiration from artists who defy genre constraints such as MGMT and Gorillaz. They’re just as adept when creating a balance between accessibility and cross-genre experimentation. With their tendency to take from techno, electro-funk, house, hip hop and indie, The Moontown Project’s spacey synth-heavy sound is a recipe for commercial success.

The lockdown-born project which consists of Will Swain-Smith (guitar and vocals) and Guy Molony (keys, bass vocals) have already amassed plenty of airplay and adoration on BBC Introducing, London and Amazing Radio. When restrictions are finally lifted, I have no doubt that the Moontown Project will be here to make sure that our moods are lifted in venues. Get them on your radar.

Moon Honey is now available to stream on Spotify.

Ride the celestial highs and sonorous lows in L.H.B.’s standout single ‘You Are Fire’

If your Ambient Electro Pop playlists are crying out for some fresh ingenuity, Leeds, UK-based artist and producer L.H.B.’s standout single ‘You Are Fire’ won’t disappoint.

With celestial highs and sonorous lows within the artist’s dynamic vocal arsenal, you’ll feel every ounce of emotion poured into the contemplatively resounding single. As the lyrics conjure imagery which sits synergistically against the glitchy yet lush Synth Pop melodies, it is all too easy to get lost in the captivating mix.

Stylistically, it sits somewhere between the overwhelming prowess of Lady Gaga’s more stripped back hits and one of Empathy Test’s melancholically tinged works of Synth Pop. Expressively, L.H.B. is in a league of her own.

You can check out You Are Fire along with the rest of L.H.B.’s album Down Yonderland via Spotify.

Party it up at home with ‘Tequila Movement’ thanks to entertaining Leeds producer Big Jadavid

Even though the UK is engulfed in another lock down- much to the searing frustration of the locals- great music is made each hour. This is one of those times as Leeds based EDM producer Big Jadavid has just blessed our party-hungry souls with an absolute ripper called ‘Tequila Movement‘ that Shane Warne would be proud of.

With a sweaty beat that reminds you of the good times in the local nightclub, Leeds based EDM producer Big Jadavid gives us something to be happy about with ‘Tequila Movement’, a pumping dance single that has a smashing beat and lyrics that helps us reminisce about being friends, meeting new friends, and drinking those tasty but headache-fueled shooters. The power of the song is like a strong wave in the ocean, and is equally refreshing for the tired hearts out there in the world.

This is an entertaining EDM song that pushes our mood up all the way to 10, and doesn’t stop the whole way. A welcome track to help us forget about previous worries, even just for 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

Dangerbirds – Red Tea: Kaleidoscopically Entrancing Melodic Jazz

‘Immersive’ isn’t usually the first adjective which comes to mind to describe a standout track from Jazz ensemble but discernibly, the Leeds-lauded Jazz outfit Dangerbirds are anything but archetypal.

After forming in 2018, Dangerbirds took their time crafting their transcendently warm album “Shapes”. Part Ambient Jaz and Part Progressive Melodic Instrumental Rock, the album is a deluge of complexity weaved into trustable rhythms. The standout track is undoubtedly Red Tea, it may not use typical time signatures, yet, you’ll want to surrender your pulses to the alchemy weaved by virtuoso-level composer and guitarist Sam Horan regardless.

Never let it be said that Jazz can’t be accessible and fit for contemporary airwaves.

Cub\cub has captured the alienating chaos of lockdown in their feat of Ambient Electronica “False Spring”

https://soundcloud.com/user-12064490-607493505/false-spring

Leeds, UK Artist and producer Cub\cub took a unique approach with their COVID-19-inspired latest release “False Spring”. The ambient soundscape captures the chaos and alienation with poignant precision.

With the hazy vocal whispers ethereally floating above the stylishly dreamy synths which carve quiescently consoling melodies, finding resolve in False Spring is all too easy.

As a fellow nihilist, I have to applaud Cub\cub’s tendency to orchestrate mixes containing optimism and hope while never leaving out the relatable dread and fear which resonates in their atmospheric sound.

You can indulge in the smooth ambience of False Spring yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.

UK Alt-Pop artist Eve Perrin showcases her immense talent with ”Nostalgia”

Eve Perrin is a fabulous singer-songwriter based in Leeds and Manchester in the UK. She is back with her latest single and this new song finds Eve in nostalgic mood with her ”Nostalgia” single.

Taken off the latest EP ”Hiatus”, ”Nostalgia” is a wonderfully crafted track for 2020. The vocals are smokey cool and I like the bounce and vibe of the creation. This is indie-pop soaked with a powerful style that makes you listen twice as it’s so nice for our tired brains sick of the depressing news.

The young alt-pop artist from the UK makes dreamy indie music with a R&B sprinkle to keep it all so fresh and so clean. Eve Perrin has the sound of the younger generation in the palm of her hands. She makes everything feel so safe and pure. Eve’s voice is effortless and I can’t stop dancing to her style. This is exactly was 2020 was shouting out for.
